What "Religion" would The Secret be classified under?

I would not call it a religion, I don't have a religion myself, but it is a way of LIVING

I would say it was a religion of free will. Most religions are pushed upon people, but with the secret, it is your choice to follow through with it or not.

Maybe we should start a religion called 'The Religion Of Free Will'

This is a great question Mike. I would definitely agree with Marcy and say it is not a religion. No offense to Rhonda Byrne, but I'm not about to start worshiping her as the latest Messiah.

If you choose to support/worship a traditional religion, I believe you will see examples of The Secret woven throughout that religion's teachings. It is evident in Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, etc...take your pick of religion, The Secret is there.

And if you choose to live without an organized religion, The Secret exists all on its own. It's on the one hand independent of religion, and on the other hand prominent in all religions.

With this said, there are Churches that promote the Law Of Attraction more than others. According to Wikipedia, the Unity Church is one of them:

You know, you are all right. It is a way of living. It is way too powerful to classify as a religion. I have been reading and studying on Abraham-Hicks and have began to understand The Secret in a more powerful way. We are all spiritual beings, whether we believe it or not. I guess I just was just looking for a name, or label, to call it. You see, I have been ridiculed by many others since my discovering of the secret. People have told me that it is evil, and the work of the devil. So I just wanted more of a support group of others like me who believed the same, but I have already discovered it. This Website! I don't need a "Church" to go to with others who believe what I believe. I have the PI website and all of you to help me, and each other, along our path of discovering this great law of attraction! Thanks everyone! But I really do recommend reading more on Abraham-Hicks. That's really some powerful and amazing stuff, for lack of better words! www.abraham-hicks.com

Can I let you in on another "secret"?

Powerful Intentions..this community was created and inspired four years ago by Abraham-Hicks. This was before the Secret was even created.

It is no coincidence you were attracted here! :-}

There are at LEAST 100 new members joining every day that all feel pretty much the same way! :-}

religion is for controlling the masses and collecting a paycheck from them for the favor. i'd say that the secret is definitely not a religion.

It's not a religion and not an organization...it's much bigger than a bread box...the Secret to me is a way of life...more than the "bread of life" and more like the "fountain of life."

I don't think it can be defined...when we try to do that we almost put limitatons on it...We live the Secret...we don't do it.

When my students ask me what I am -- meaning what religion -- I say, "The last tme I checked, I was still a spirit being human..."
