I love this time of the year...everything has a rich, ripened color, getting cooler outside... it's homey and cozy....
Is it just me or does Autumn have a different energy than the other seasons? LOL...
It's now September, and autumn is on its way. In the UK, the trees are just starting to change colour, now that the heat and dryness of the summer have passed, and we are starting to get some cooler nights (however, we are still getting pleasantly warm and sunny days). I love this time of year, and am looking forward to what the country will be like when I get back from holiday. Last week, I received a number of positive and even optimistic thoughts about what this year's autumn could well be like, so I sketched them all down and they have given me something to pay attention to and to send out into the Universe. So we shall see what happens, but I am getting good feelings about what autumn 2018 could be like.
Autumn started about 3 weeks ago where I live. I noticed that the trees were already changing and the wind had a cold bite to it. Spiders were making lots of webs everywhere too, so that is usually a sign of winter approaching. Late Spring or early summer is my favorite time, but I do like this time of year.. except all the pumpkin flavored everything. bleh. I like pumpkin but only in pie!
After a mixed bag of a summer, today feels like the first day of the British Autumn. It's warm, sunny, serene and peaceful. The leaves are just starting to change colour, pumpkin spice and bonfire spice lattes are appearing in the coffee shops, and the Rugby World Cup is starting soon. I am declaring Autumn officially open.
I have a favour to ask from all autumn lovers out there: could you please visualise some proper Autumn weather for the UK, because so far, Autumn this year has been a bit rubbish. Apart from one lovely week in September, it has generally been a bit dull and rainy. This is supposed to be the most reliable month of the year for UK weather, but we have had rainy days, overcast nights, and the trees are still pretty green. What we need are sunny days, clear nights and trees changing colour to glorious shades. Then I can get to Kew Gardens on a day off and do some photography. Thanks a lot everyone!
A few autumn colour shots from beautiful Kew Gardens a year ago, to serve as some inspiration.
