This is an old English phrase that my mum uses a lot and it is something that I grew up hearing a lot but never really taking much notice of until this morning she I was chatting with Susie and Layners in the chatroom and it dawned on me that sometimes I am really 'life blind' and actually this phrase is so damn true that I think my mum is some sort of prophet. :D
I started to think about all the contrast that I have attracted into my life recently (mostly to do with money) and I realised that rather than freaking out about it I needed to appreciate that this amount of seemingly stress and worry was being brought to me to show me that I am strong enough to handle it. That even though right this second I might not have a solution to these problems it's ok, one will come. That it was ok to be overwhelmed and cry a little and let it out because I don't hide from my feelings, I express them rather with battle them and guess what, it means that I can move on from the worry to something much more productive.
So what has this got to do with trees you might wonder?
Well in all honesty it's more the analogy than the actual trees but it is the realisation that sometimes life gets in the way and we only see what is being brought to us and not why or what we can learn from it.I need to learn not to panic and the only way to get better at that is to be subjected to more reasons where I would usually panic. It's all about perspective. We see the trees but not the wood that we can do so many things with, we just see trees blocking our path not what they represent. We see them blocking out the light but without them we would not breathe, so there is always more to a situation than it might seem on first glance.
Sure this realisation has helped me calm down and given me a greater perspective on the situation I find myself in right now. So what situation are you in where you're not seeing the wood for the trees?

I have one specific tree full of wood-rot that I would absolutely LOVE to take a chainsaw to!!!!!!! So that I can see the beautiful forest again....
This saying is so true.
I agree.... The term is, "... can't see the forest for the trees."... but in England they might refer to "a forest" as "the wood"... or "woods". :)
They might call a wooded area "the wood", in old english, that is.
At anyrate.... I still use that term, which I got from my mother, all the time, "He can't see the forest for (because of) the trees."... refering to short-sighted understanding. :)

Ahhh, synchronous, as often is the case.
This was the quote I drew to myself from Elias this morning.
ELIAS: Correct, and each step also incorporates more of an expression of trust, for you generate each what you term to be small steps but they are in actuality quite large steps that you are incorporating. As you continue - you are correct - your creations do expand and become more significant, and as they expand, you recognize that it requires more of your trust of yourself to maintain that expansion.
I too heard a version of that all my life. Here's what I think
So it is actually true that money does grow on trees.
I'm happy you are on your way to wealth.
This is a great post, dear Angel. It is a phrase I am also familiar with... Its all about perspective, sometimes we focus on the minutiae and forget the broader picture. If you think about it, letting go of the issue is the answer. You can either stand by that tree focusing on it, waiting for something to happen or you can choose to fly above the wood/forest and experience its beauty and abundance in all its glory.
Your financial wealth and abundance is here.
Sweet, that picture is totally awesome. It made me feel so peaceful and relaxed when looking at it. Thank you for sharing.
