I get excited about the little things. I love when it snows. Especially when I wake up in the morning and I see a blanket of snow over everything. Sometimes I even sing a little song ("Snow snow snowwwy snow"...repeat as many times as necessary).
Drawing can be fun. Even if I'm just doodling in my notebook during class. Coloring is also cool. Sometimes I will buy a cheap coloring book and crayons and just color.
Blasting a song that I love and dancing my heart out is amazing. I try to do that as often as possible.
Playing dress up (I don't do this enough). Finding pretty clothes and putting on a fashion show for your friends (great music is a must)
I hang out sometimes (LOL) with my 9-year-old and his friends, for as long as they let me, anyway. And I'm pretty silly.
Sometimes I'll pull into my driveway and spin the tires in the gravel, or I've even stopped on the street and started up from a stop to squeal my tires. I guess it's because my dad did stuff like that now and then and I loved his playful nature. I haven't gotten a ticket yet, anyway...LOL!
I love to go to stores and sing silly songs and yes, walk around and look at things like toys and just general paraphernalia and just be silly.
I love to read the funny greeting cards and laugh out loud.
I love to run, sometimes in a silly way. And talk in a silly way, too; pretend accents and all that. I have to be careful, sometimes -- you never know who's around that might think you're making fun of them.
I love to chew bubblegum and blow bubbles.
Oh, yeah, ice cream!
Just eat plain whipped cream out of the can, or Cool Whip out of the container. Or pile it on chocolate pudding or pie. Pile it. Not that meager little dollop you always get from your mom!!!
I like to play Slap Jack and Go Fish.
I go down the slide and push the merry-go-round and swing.
I love Flarp, Play-Doh and Moon Sand.
Whenever I finish up a book of stamps, I am often tempted to take the remaining stickers (not stamps) and just stick 'em somewhere, simply because I can. Why waste a good sticker?
When I write labels on files at work, sometimes I just have to get out the highlighters and sharpies and make them fancy.
And just about all I read in the papers, when I do, are the comics.
You watch cartoons? Like Spongebob? Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!
OK, so you're 19, and I'm 53, and I love Spongebob.
Never stop. Yes, revert to these things for the rest of your life.
And if you love drawing, and you're making it a profession, you should do it -- yes, you play with your inner child even in your profession because that's how you are creative, right? I do my best creating when I can let go and be childlike in my mind without all the "rules" that govern my life as an "adult."
Enjoy it, Dan.
In the late summer, I had a load of kids in my car, and we were driving through town with the windows open. So I hollered out there, randomly, "HI!" real loud. Once there were some people there, and I hollered "HI" at them, and the kids in my car slid down in their seats to hide. But they were laughing hard, too. And so was I.
You, Dan, are a GREAT brother to have for your little sisters and I'll bet they love the dickens out of you!
Another thing I love to do that makes me laugh -- I have downloaded sounds from movies, etc., from a site called "The Daily.wav" (www.dailywav.com). I make it so they can be heard at different points as I use my computer -- when I minimize and maximize a window, when I open a menu window, etc. I just heard one that said, "That's goooood SOUP!" and "Inspector Butters is on the case, ma'am."
When I do that, some people have to turn the sound down on my computer...!
Dan, you probably already know how to do this, I'll bet.
Well, I THINK I love drawing but I've had trouble getting back into it.. I just haven't had much creative juices flowing, I've been dealing with a lot of drama so I guess that kind of takes it out of you.. but I digress, I would love to do something very creative for a living.

Your words are very true, I will try to live by them :]

Oh my God, my mom did the SAME stuff to me as a kid, hahahaha. I can only imagine how embarassed my little sisters get. We really are laughing along with her though, yeah.

Haha, thanks, I appreciate it. In fact, one of the reasons I'm having a hard time moving on to my adult life is having to abandon them.. =/
Haha, I have actually done that before with the sound effects, it's great fun. Do you remember what "that's gooood SOUP!" is from? It sounds familiar.
I enjoyed reading this thread.........MJ....you're too much and I absolutely adore you! Dan always keep your inner child, he will save you time and time again.....Don't grow up, just grow wiser and enjoy the ride!
I do things that make my kids say "OH MY GOD" all the time, but I catch them doing the same things and really really laughing about things - to me that is as important as the values and principles I have instilled in their lives.....
And Sugarbear..............................ah, Sugarbear!
