I find that when I stop expecting certain things to happen they do happen or even happen in a better way than I would have 'expected'. I'm talking about 'expecting' my man to call or 'expecting' a party to be good or a movie to be great. And then I am profoundly disappointed when those things don't happen.
I find that life is much much kinder when you cut free the expectations. Unfortunately though everybody around you, the media etc make you 'expect' certain things, 'expect' certain outcomes and then the disappointment can be huge.
I have been really noticing that if I stop listening to 'your bf should have said this to you by now' or 'why hasn't he said/done/acted like this yet?' and completely let go of any expectations that they do actually happen, I am surprised by what has happened or things I never 'expected' actually happen.
Some days though I find it harder to not expect than others.
I hope this makes sense, lol but what I'm trying to say is that when I stop expecting certain outcomes that sometimes better things happen and because I wasn't expecting it the experience was even better!
Do other people find this?
