Encouragement for attracting a lost love
I haven't been on this forum for over a year. I has really changed... i hardly even recognize it. I haven't been on in so long that i forgot my username.
Well I'm back because I find myself needing help to grow with my intentions but also to help others that need encouragement especially with love.
I will start by giving some background.
A year and a half ago I lost the love of my life through my own irresponsible actions (I didn't cheat but I did treat him horribly.) And I don't blame him for leaving. We were together for 10 years at this point. Once it sunk in that he was not going to stick around it was too late for me to make up for it. I went through all the stages of a breakup. Devistation, anger, feeling sorry for myself, feeling angry at myself... you name the emotion I went through it.
I went on different forums to find support but I mostly got harassed and told I don't deserve him. I started to believe it. But then I had snap out it if I wanted to do anything about it.
So I started watching the Secret every night. I downloaded the audio book and listened to it over and over... I even fell asleep to it. I had to gain my hope back that I was worth having what I wanted even if I did make mistakes along the way.
So I got the concept of the Secret. I just needed real life reassurance that I could attract a person back into my life. Most of the posts I read were about people just like me. There weren't many that illustrated love lost coming back. I knew that if my lost love ever came back I would have to come back and share my story.
So here I am. I want to tell you all that it can happen! You CAN attract your lost love back to you!!
After 4 months of putting the Secret to work I got my love back. 4 months and 1 year after I MARRIED him!!!
The first step is you have to make sure.... positively sure that you want to back with that person for the right reasons. Not pride, not comfort, it has to be genuine. Once you recognize the genuine love and want for this person you have to take a deep breath. You have to relax and trust that your love is worth waiting for as long as it takes to get what you want, because you never really know when it will come back to you.
And so starts the game of energy. Which is what the Secret is all about, energy. and to truly illustrate how I attracted it back was a post i discovered and read over and over and over and over and over.
"You redirect your thoughts to other matters. Now you only pay that person as much attention as you do everyone else (it is wrong to ignore the person - and that happens often as a reaction of ego, pride, etc.). You continue to be kind and good and behave as though nothing ever happened between the two of you. Although that person's reaction to your attention was negative, you are not adversely effected. (Can you see how easy it is to forget "the greatest love" once you "unplug" and distance yourself from it?)
What happens? The same person who didn't pay you any attention before now begins to take an interest in you. It is a game of energy. If you want something from someone or try to impose your needs on him or her, a similar situation arises because it isn't what "that" person wants.
The solution lay always in the middle ground. Returning to the example, where the situation is completely reversed, suddenly your opinion matters and he or she now finds you trustworthy and someone they want to confide in. In the first case you were giving your energy to the other person (in the form of affection and approval), in the second case, you withdrew your energy.
Feeling an overall absence of energy, the other person seeks to restore the balance of the original state. With your energy withdrawn, the other person must now go farther to restore the balance of energy, so far that they are now willing to "invest" some of their energy, attention. When you redirected your energy and gave up your desire, it came true.
Physics, which, among other things, describes the various relationships and behavior of energy exchange, can explain this phenomenon. The universe acts according to the principles of energy exchange and humans are primarily beings of energy that have a physical form. Thus, the idea that physics could inform the notion of relationships between human beings as an overall interaction and exchange of energy is not only phenomenal, but also becoming more recognized in the world.
This example illustrates one of the basic Laws of Nature. As long as you are trying to gain the affection of another person, your over exuberance causes the energy scale to tip out of balance, resulting in the object of your affection withdrawing theirs to the point of indifference. For them, this situation is ideal.
You are now in deep and under their control, eyes wide and bright, eager to please, doing whatever they want to the extinction of your own needs. When you withdraw your attention, and thus your energy, the scale tips in the opposite direction and the other party sees the resulting deficit as their losing control over you. Their fear of losing now compels them to respond by investing their energy to get yours back on their side again.
Whenever you feel the compulsion to force a situation, you are in danger of any disbelief you may harbour of a successful outcome overtaking you and extinguishing any tiny spark of faith and hope you have. "
So I "moved on" I got on with my life as best I could. Of course I always had him on my mind. But I wasn't staying in bed all day anymore. I wasn't drinking myself blind anymore. I had a life again.
Once I really started living by what I read I would get calls from him at least 3 times a week. Until finally I got a call from him telling me that he wanted to be back together.
So once again, let me reassure that it will work! It has worked!

I just want to say Hi and thanks for the postings really helping me out at the moment, and they started way back !! I have a very messy story and this really is the final chance for us (although it has led me to learning life-skills as is the Secret !) I may tell my story one time but certainly take a bit of typing I may need some encouragement too - I feel a bit unfaithful to, wouldn't like her to see

Your story brings me peace.. I guess i need to stop over-inflating the balloon.. We had started to get back after 9 months.. But i feel him withdrawing again.. Like again being compalcent and taking for granted sorts.. I'm going to withdraw my energy.. Let's keep connected.. Thank you for your story..

THE MORE ONE RUNS AFTER A BUTTERFLY TO CATCH INT HE GARDEN THE FARTHER IT RUNS FROM YOU, AND ONCE YOU SAY , LET IT FLY , JUST LEAVE IT , IM NOT SOOO INTERESTED ALSO, THATS WHEN U REALIZE THE BUTTERFLY COMES AND QUIETLY SITS ON YOUR SHOULDER, THATS WHT I THINK IS ........ Hello all,
Ive been following this website and a few posts on here since a few days now and I cannot express it in words how much better I have felt. I also watched the movie "The Secret", and have been trying to master some of the things that were mentioned there are here. I have a couple of points where I am confused and would appreciate your insights on it.
So here it goes. I am trying to attract an ex lover back. We were in a relationship for 4 years (all long distance), but we broke up 3 months back...
I did all the crazy stuff that one would normally do - all the longing and pining, the crying, begging, pleading, the works... But since a couple of weeks I have stopped doing that. Yes, the thought of her still crosses my mind pretty much everytime, but it does not bring bitterness, or hate towards her (considering the fact that she broke my heart, etc.). More so, I got reminded of her this morning through something, and the pleasant memories that I created with her came to me. I chuckled, and continued doing whatever I was doing.
I am making an intention.
I am trying to visualize it.
I am feeling the "feeling" that I already have it, and expressing my gratitude for it.
I am expressing my gratitude for other good things I have in my life.
I am doing things regardless of the outcome, and trying to plunge into whatever life is taking me to.
However, I am confused about "Let-go". The thought of her crosses my mind often (nothing negative though). Is this ok?
Like what exactly do you think I should do to "Let-go"?
And, I read this a lot, but how to "release" your intention to the universe?
Another thing, what role does 'Expectation' plays in 'Receiving'? Or should you let go of any kind of expectation attached to it?
Would appreciate your insight on this.

Hello there...I am glad I found this today.It gave me hope about the position i am in at the moment. I am aware of the secret but havent realy put it into practice to be honest..At this moment I feel that I will have to make few steps to b abel to move forward in life, with hope and attracting the one I love, but witohut being stressed and destroying myself everyday.
I was hoping if we could discuss this more open and in detaisl, your case of returning your man after 4 months..I believe in what you are saying ,but sometimes people need bigger kick and deeper assurance. I need this.

I am so happy that I found this. Yesterday I had a breakdown where I questioned everything I believe about my situation.
Let me explain my situation...I was with my bf for about 3 years before he broke up with me a little over a year ago. I went a little crazy called him all the time, texted, sent packages, showed up at his place (we were 5 hours away!). Things seemed to be fine when we were together but then I he always came back to "we broke up and I dont want to be with you". Well I started using the ideas of LOA. I started a gratitude journal, visualized, meditated. Eventually I had the opportunity to move back to where he was and it was not just for him (although that was a bonus). Anyway I did not call him or contact him after I moved. When we eventaully saw each other it was amazing. Since that day we got back together (not officially..he was always sure to point that out). I was happy that we were on the right track and that when he was ready to fully commit he would. Well I got a job somewhere else and he went off to school and once again we were apart. We made it about a month before he said we needed to talk. He said that our relationship was not "productive" where it was. I decided to give him space and time to "miss" me.
Well about 5 or 6 weeks have gone by and I have not contacted him at all. I have been working hard at my job, taking art classes, reading and just trying to make myself better. I feel like my friends think I am crazy for still wanting to be with him and when I have a day where I need to talk about it I am hesitant to call them. They will say, "well maybe you need to move on" or things like that. I feel like I attracted him into my life once before and that I can do it again and this time forever. I think that when I realized we were going to be apart again I started to worry about what would happen and then just like that we broke up again.
I just need to some advice or like Lilith Jones said a bigger kick. Its hard to believe in the process sometimes when you are the only one you know who thinks that way.
I just keep telling myself....we are meant to be. He is the love of my life. We will be together. I need to believe.

Hi Tuna, I'm in a similar boat you were in - didn't treat my love too well (I didn't cheat either), refused to let him move to my state and was a bit of a witch most of the time. After three years of dating, I let up and dropped my guard but he'd already given up, saying he didn't want to be hurt anymore. He was really in love with me and now, not so much. I'm ready to be "all in" and together forever.
Physically, I've made room in my house, closet, bathroom etc.
Mentally, I visualize us together, journal and doing the processes from Ask and It Is Given. I have dreams about him once in a while and I know dreams are supposed to let you know what's coming. I'll feel so discouraged and impatient. Maybe he doesn't want me back and has closed his heart to me. I'm using the Emotional Scale to get back to better feelings. When I feel down, I say "I am receiving all the good in my life now" and I feel better but my mind drifts to negative thoughts. The Law of Attraction responds to the majority of your thoughts and I am trying my best to keep them positive.
Also, I meditate to give my mind a break and I'm about to make some subliminal mp3s to work on my subconscious.
I'm either doing to much or not enough. Frustrating.
So, any advice? I was an idiot and want my man back. Help please! :0(

Mel, I am really sorry to hear you are going through a bad patch. Im sure you will get lots of sound advice from all the wonderful people on here as I always do myself!
Reading your post a thought struck me - is this the LOA working for your boyfriend? -like he always pushed you to be together and then when he backed off, you wanted him. This is great news cos it means it will work for you (and me!!) as well.
Would love to hear what anyone else thinks about this and Mel in the meantime you should check out a discussion on here called Getting your (ex) lover back started by a very wise and kind lady called Mallica. It helped me a lot.
