Powerful Intentions: Law of Attraction Community

Powerful Intentions is a unique Law of Attraction Online Community

i used to do a lot of law of attraction abraham hicks and the secret. but as i went through the journey, i've learned and learned that in order to manifest easily instead of trying so hard to feel good so that your manifestations occur, you must embrace resistances in order to feel neutral about your manifestations. when you feel neutral and ordinary about your manifestations, then they come about.

but law of attraction using excitement and enthusiasm does work but it takes a lot of energy since you are repressing resistances. but law of attraction seem to work easily when you allow resistances into your consciousness and they will disappear eventually depending on how powerful the energy it has on you.

anyway, as i feel spiritually "awakened" or "enlightened", i just feel that i was forced into it. it was never my goal to be awakened. but here i am, suffering but cannot avoid it. the more avoid it, i know it's just going to haunt me. i'm in a transition place right now where i see that my life is unfair that i have to go through this while my family and people i know don't have to.

i feel like the people i've had in my life no longer feels connected to me. i feel so alone...

anyway, are you enlightened? what was it like and what happened in your life afterwards?

wonderful garth and brian f, we have different perception of what enlightenment is. i'm talking about enlightenment in buddhism

Dear Garth,

In order to become the Buddha, we have first to practice all ten paramitas. Here is the list.

  1. Dāna pāramī : generosity, giving of oneself
  2. Sīla pāramī : virtue, morality, proper conduct
  3. Nekkhamma pāramī : renunciation
  4. Paññā pāramī : transcendental wisdom, insight
  5. Viriya (also spelled vīriya) pāramī : energy, diligence, vigour, effort
  6. Khanti pāramī : patience, tolerance, forbearance, acceptance, endurance
  7. Sacca pāramī : truthfulness, honesty
  8. Adhiṭṭhāna (adhitthana) pāramī : determination, resolution
  9. Mettā pāramī : loving-kindness
  10. Upekkhā (also spelled upekhā) pāramī : equanimity, serenity

This however this is the believe of the Theravadin while the Mahayana has this list.

  1. Dāna pāramitā: generosity, giving of oneself (in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, 布施波羅蜜; in Wylie Tibetan, sbyin-pa)
  2. Śīla pāramitā : virtue, morality, discipline, proper conduct (持戒波羅蜜; tshul-khrims)
  3. Kṣānti (kshanti) pāramitā : patience, tolerance, forbearance, acceptance, endurance (忍辱波羅蜜, bzod-pa)
  4. Vīrya pāramitā : energy, diligence, vigor, effort (精進波羅蜜, brtson-’grus)
  5. Dhyāna pāramitā : one-pointed concentration, contemplation (禪定波羅蜜, bsam-gtan)
  6. Prajñā pāramitā : wisdom, insight (般若波羅蜜, shes-rab)
  7. Upāya pāramitā: skillful means
  8. Praṇidhāna pāramitā: vow, resolution, aspiration, determination
  9. Bala pāramitā: spiritual power
  10. Jñāna pāramitā: knowledge

All this entire list are needed to be practice not in one lifetimes but in many lives. Every one human life, at least one paramitas will be practice into perfection in order to become a Buddha. Yes, in buddhism there is such thing as rebirth but not reincarnation. I said Human lives and not lives of celestial beings nor any beings lower than human.

So its not easy wanting to be a Buddha and it may takes millions of years or lives as practicing such good paramitas does actually give you rebirth as a dewa or dewas. One dewa lifetime can easily be an aeon or more.

So Garth, do not ignorantly take the title of the Buddha and throw it around as if its something very easy to achieve. :)

The Buddha or which is the recent Buddha aka Gotama Buddha usually encourage us to instead go for arahant or arahat. Its one of the title below Buddha but it can be achieve in this lifetime.

However, in order to achieve arahant or arahat is also no small matter as it requires a huge amount of practice in meditation and thorough reading of sutra or sutta. The reading of the sutta or sutra must be combine with wisdom as well. The amount of meditation practice also depend on the condition of a person. It might take a huge amount of practice and effort. I know some arahat has practice nearly 18 hours of daily meditation that include standing, sitting, walking and reclining.

So Garth, thinking alone does not give you enlightenment. Lorelei, I am pleasantly surprise that you are a Buddhist or maybe you are looking into Buddhism. Anyway Sadhu sister, sadhu. :)

I am not sure whether you are into mahayana or a theravadin. Mahayana usually promote Bodhistta or Bodhisattva but the effort in reaching it is also the same.

However dear Lorelei, do not be overwhelm by what I have said or written above. All the above are not required to do in immediate effect. One has to enter kindergarten as a first step in order to reach University. :) So take your time to be comfortable and slowly pick up pace.

Buddha is a doctor who cures diseases but one need not be a doctor to be cured of diseases. :)

Peace be with you or if you understand, With Metta. :)

xenusfreeman, you outlined one way to become enlightened. One belief system that works for some people. The part many people don't understand is, no one answer fits every person. There truly are many paths to the same destination.

I recently heard someone talking about why God would create so many species of trees. Why not just have one strong and long living Oak? Why not have one species of bean for people to eat?

There is no such thing as a universal answer. Man will never completely agree with one answer.

If you believe enlightenment takes 10 steps and takes years to achieve then it does, for you.

The reality is, many people have just as strong and deep beliefs that enlightenment can come much quicker and without structured rules, and for them it does. Kind of goes with creating our own perception and creating our own reality.  I'm not saying you are wrong, your not wrong for you, but you are also not right for many others.

:)

Well, If you think you can be enlighten by thinking then go ahead.

And I am sorry, that is not my own perception nor is it my view nor a created reality.

I am practicing what Buddha recommended and putting his teaching to the test.

I found many of his teaching to point out truthfully as he has implies.

Believes? Buddha never did ask us to believe him anyway but ask us to find out ourselves whether his teaching ring truth. He even ask us to investigate and judged whether he is qualified to be a teacher by putting his teachings to the test.

So monks will tell you this, Buddhist don't believe anything. This is what buddhist do, buddhist study, learn and experience.

Besides I never did says this is the ultimate truth... There are few other ways outline by the Christian that is "The way of the cross". I am sure Islam too has their own way of enlightenment.

However, not a single one of those religion says you sit there and think you are enlighten then you are. :)

Your kinda of thinking I am afraid might actually be from your own ego. Try and lower it down and truly look out in the world. Look into life as life is not only in the mind but beyond and outside of it. Start being aware of everything and anything around you and within you. Then maybe you will start to realize its not only this much you have to do but so much more you can do.

"The part many people don't understand is, no one answer fits every person. There truly are many paths to the same destination."

You are entirely right and it is heavily outline in Buddhism. Everybody has a different cause and condition. Every individual is different and unique. That is why Buddha taught different varieties of meditation and expound different discourses specifically for different individual. :)

If you believe enlightenment takes 10 steps and takes years to achieve then it does, for you.

Believes? Don't be silly, I don't believe. I am currently working on it and I don't see any steps at all but just a path walking uphill. I sincerely didn't count the steps nor have I keep tab on the steps I have taken. The entirety is so huge I am just happy that I have taken the first step and did not fall behind. So much to work at and so much yet to work on.

The reality is, many people have just as strong and deep beliefs that enlightenment can come much quicker and without structured rules, and for them it does. Kind of goes with creating our own perception and creating our own reality.  I'm not saying you are wrong, your not wrong for you, but you are also not right for many others.

In order to live in reality required are peaceful and still mind. A normal person always has the tendency of them looking at what they like to look or think what they like to think.

And reality required a person to live in the present moment. :) I hope you are looking at reality as it is and not looking at what you want or like to look at. Never understimate your mind as your mind are extremely tricky. However, I am sure you will most probably says "if you think your mind is tricky then it is", right? :)

"can come much quicker and without structured rules, and for them it does."

Rules? This is another sad case of ignorant. If you are a father to a child, will you let the child do whatever they like and be with whoever they want to be? Of course not. You are responsible for your child and what actually does your child knows of this world? Nothing! Your child is totally ignorant of the worldly danger so a parent has to guide their child and point out the danger in this world.

This is not rules but guidelines to steer you clear of dangers and bad influences.

Remember, if you want to lead then you must first be led. :)

Peace be with you.

You have found what works for you, that is great. You mention ignorance, ignorance is not realizing we will never know it all. The more we learn, the more we see what we don't know. You also mentioned various religions and their path to enlightenment. Enlightenment can be reached without traditional religions. All teachings are a form of brain washing. There are implied structures and rules that your mind has to accept to move forward. I'm not saying that is bad but if you adhere to one strict teaching you are closing your mind to other possibilities.

I agree. enlightenment doesn't come by just setting in a dark room wishing, but realize if your mind is open experience can be as valuable a teacher as any philosophy.

Lastly, you talked about Ego, Ego is thinking you are right and someone else is wrong. You can never judge someone else unless you have walked in their shoes and understood their reality. As I said, what you said is right for you and offering it will help like minded thinkers. Just remember, many others will take that different path and will reach their destination.

Good discussion, opens the mind for possibilities.

Rogare,

I am truly angry of what you have written. I am so mad I feel incredibly ashamed talking to you.

All teachings are a form of brain washing.

This phrase is enough to tell me how incredibly and deeply ignorant are you. You just insulted all the teachers in the world. All of them!!!

These teachers included the teacher who have taught you at school, love ones who was close to you, even your own parents but the worse of all, you just insulted life.

Why are you even a human? How egoistic, arrogant, and foolish are you?

Your parents intend to brain wash you? Are you seriosus!!?!?!? SO teaching YOU how to wash your clothes is BRAIN WASHING?!?!?!?! SO teaching you how to drive is ALSO BRAIN WASHING?!?!?!? Telling you how to cross the street is also BRAIN WASHING?!?!!? Telling you not to touch a boiling water is also.......

I am so angry. Yet I am angry not for myself but for all the teachers whom they have taught you. All their effort wasted on such an arrogant, unappreciative and totally lost person.

This is not a discussion anymore and I am ashamed of even talking to you.

"This phrase is enough to tell me how incredibly and deeply ignorant are you. You just insulted all the teachers in the world. All of them!!!"

Xenus, You have a negative perception and read your own feeling into my comment.

You interpreted the term "Brain Washing " as negative. I could have said "Programming" and you may have taken it the same way. This is how our brain works. Repetition is how we all learn things.  I didn't criticize you for your view yet you can't accept there are ways besides your own. That shows a mind that is closed to alternative perceptions. I may not accept your perception but I don't fault you for using it because it works for you. As I said before, it is right for you.

You said "Why are you even a human? How egoistic, arrogant, and foolish are you?"

I hate to break it to you but it is your EGO that is showing..

I respect you guys very much... just wanted to say; that some of us when we are doing our very best get some of it right most of the time.. but none of us get it right ALL of the time... and that's OK.

To be present and aware, to be kind and unassuming puts us in a receptive light. Call it what ever you wish.  I do know this ; God, Love, The Universe, Buddha, Source does not argue. IT IS TRUE.

We and our human pride ( Ego if you will) get our feelings hurt, argue and get defensive. We are all subject to race suggestion (brain washing) heres a quote from a very wise man. "

“In religion and politics people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.” Mark Twain

Hi xenus, if you can set aside your anger for a moment you can learn so much from this exchange :)

What has caused this reaction? What exactly is it within yourself that is causing such an emotional response?

I love you! Fp

Dear Garth,

Huh? What was I supposed to think of you? :)

Rogare,

I expected this from you. Your ego is so big that is so hard to miss. You are practically a hot air balloon fill with ego flying above the sky and never touching the ground. The next moment, you will tell me you are a god while you are just a hot air balloon.

And you think I didn't notice my ego? If I am freed from my ego then I wouldn't continue to practice meditation. Seriously, why should I be angry when I am not even your teacher? :/ But yet I couldn't control my anger becos I truly love all my teachers and masters. Without them, I won't be even able to change my life and to live in it at all. Tsssk... You really are just a hot air balloon full of ego. You never even think nor are mindful of the words you used and that is enough to tell me how much you are in control. Alright, I will stop talking to you.

Dear Flowerpatch,

There are a lot things I could explain and share, for everything this person says I have already gone through and investigate upon it but the person I am talking to is just not seeing anything.

The post above is the best example of how a person repair their ego. Its truly a classic example of "Ohhh, actually you are wrong. You the only one in the wrong becos you misinterpret MY word. MY word is supposed to interpret as this...... So I forgive you."

Well, whatever.

This anger, I think I am proud of it. When I look within checking as to see whether "Myself" was hurt, I found nothing. Just an empty void. I know I am not capable of teaching and my teachers whom some are already dead shown me I am not ready to teach. So I never consider myself a teacher but I truly love my teachers eventhough they are dead and some even scold me with extremely piercing words that knife me straight to my heart. I can never hate them as they are so wise that eventhough they stab me yet their words ring truth to me. I love my teachers and that is enough said. Sadly though I can't say I love the Buddha. Eventhough he is the supreme teacher of Buddhism but I can't seem to love him. I do respect him but I can't seem to love him. Queer. Maybe I don't know enough of him yet. Hmmm.

Peace be with you Flowerpatch and Garth.

The last words I will say to you. You create your own reality and you then choose to react or respond. It is always your choice..
