Okay firstly look at the focus here. When you think of something as “sad” does it make you feel good? The feeling good is really a key point here and its so greatly misunderstood. Its not about ignoring reality (because that just doesn’t work). Its about looking for the good in every moment. So rather than thinking of yourself as a bouncing ball (unless that makes you feel good) instead, look for something you can be grateful for in the very moment you are feeling sad. There is nothing wrong with sadness and it shouldn’t be avoided per se, and it should be acknowledged when it does show up and expressed in a healthy way for you. Now whats good about sadness, well it’s an emotion we all experience, and usually when you are sad, you cry – you in effective have an internal detox of emotions too. That’s actually a wonderful thing to do!
Secondly its never about ignoring the current reality. That is in and of itself nothing but escapism and won’t get you to where you desire to be. First off its better to have an idea of the goal in mind that you desire to create, and then to look at where you are right now and work out what steps you can take to get closer to that goal.
Now one of the easiest things to do to shift things when you are feeling down is to look at something you are grateful for. Believe me there is always something to be grateful for – no matter what your circumstances. It can be as simple as recongising you are breathing free oxygen, or are in a warm house, or have clothes on, whatever that is, it immediately starts raising your vibrations as a result of that. Then you can start looking further for things to be grateful for. There is a huge reason why gratitude is often spoken of in LOA circles, and when you get good at it its easy to play things like Abe’s rampage of appreciation. Doing that game can be a life changer (or saver) depending on your perspective.
