Powerful Intentions: Law of Attraction Community

Powerful Intentions is a unique Law of Attraction Online Community

If you're music-savvy & familiar with meditation, please help me by answering this question!! =D

So, I've recently been introduced to a type of music called "Psytrance", which basically sounds like techno with different effects mixed in... and on this site I keep finding music that from my first glance at the description looks as though it could either help with meditation (the first link, Active Meditation) or in general help achieve altered states of consciousness (the second link, The Bestiary) ... however I can't really tell by the context if it's just marketing hype or the real deal. Will listening to this really help me learn some new kind of meditation, or affect my brain positively (like brainwave entrainment programs), or do the makers just mean their songs are good for clubs and things like that? I hope I'm making myself clear ... :(

The second link seemed a bit more promising to me, btw.

I understand it's a tricky question but don't just skip this discussion over...! I'd appreciate any input!
Sorry, it's just a very new thing. I've heard of trance, but not sure about psytrance. However, I do know that sometimes I meditate to dance/trance music and it does help with me, but I think it depends on your personal preference. The description to the second one sounds more like marketing than actual promises of a new altered consciousness, but what I recommend is trying to see if you can listen to it for free on sites like youtube or google video. That's what I use for meditation
Hey, thanks for your reply ... I think the second one is very close to dance/trance, I'm not even sure what the difference is. I agree, the description on the second link sounds like a bunch of fancy words strung together, but in my opinion the music is of a better quality than in the first, so that might be why. I just wanted to check it thoroughly to make sure I wasn't missing anything that could be useful... you can listen to them for free right there on those links you know :)
Thanks for your input, it gave me quite a bit to think about. No, I do not feel peaceful when I listen to the second link (that's the one I'm more interested in) but I don't think that was their intended effect, they said they were supposed to help reach some kind of an altered state. I struggle from chronic fatigue and I was wondering if the upbeat, rapid-paced music would give me some energy as well as some additional mental benefits... guess not. If you sense bad vibes then you are most probably right ...
I only listened to one piece...

ANTAGON

I doesn't feel relaxing to me whatsoever.

I don't ever like to tell people what music is supposed to sound like. My career for 35 years has been playing and writing music. If someone asked me to create meditative music, this is way more aggressive than I would choose. But some people get relaxed listening to death metal.

If someone asked me for music to meditate to, I'd google meditative music, and check out what comes up in a search.

I couldn't imagine meditating to this, unfortunately for whoever told you this might work for that. I could imagine watching kids dancing to it at a rave. To each his own!
Actually, only my first link is really related to meditation, the second one is about reaching an altered state of consciousness, in their words, a psychedelic state. I have no experience with that whatsoever so I don't know what it's supposed to feel like, are you supposed to relax in that kind of state...? I've heard a lot of meditative music but it I tend to get bored/annoyed from the repetitiveness, I need something to keep at least mildly stimulated... Hmm. I guess it's because I'm a kid myself. Thanks for your input, much appreciated :)
Like everything, your intent has more influence than any technique or music that you use to aid you in your goal. If you program a belief that the music will have a specific effect then you will get that effect. If you don't believe then you won't get the effect.
