I didn't realize this forum was here, so I decided to post my success stories here. This actually happened last year, but this incident was very amusing. I posted it on my blog, so if you already read the story, my apologies.
So last year around June, I just just finished reading the book, The Power. In the book, Rhonda explains how she fell in love with a woman's skirt while on vacation in Paris. After she returned home, she was on her way to work and got caught in traffic. As she waited for clearance, she looked out her window and saw the very skirt, she had admired in Paris in a shop window near her office. It was in her size and there was only one. The amazing thing about her story is, the shop owner did not order that particular skirt and he doesn't know how it got there!
Now, my story. I was shopping for a trendy handbag that would be streamlined enough to take on job interviews. I tend to move toward larger bags with zippers, studs or other trims. I also did not to spend a lot of money, so I went to large store that carries designer brands for less.
I saw a really nice bag that would have been perfect, except it was orange. They also had the same bag in mustard. I looked to see if they carried it in black or brown. I looked throughout the department, but did not see this particular bag in black or brown. I saw another bag that was made by the same company, but it was a little too funky. Even too funky for me, but it had the same basic shape as the one I'd fallen in love with. So, I purchased the bag.
I took it home and noticed they hadn't taken the ink tag off. At first I was like, "oh man! They didn't take off the ink tag!" Then I thought about bringing the bag back to the store near my home (I bought the bag in their sister store in another town near my friend's house). On the way to the store near me, I had an epiphany. Maybe this is meant to be. I'll bet they'll have this bag in black. Having the bag in black might have been a long shot, because black and brown are the most popular colors. Plus they only had one orange and one yellow bag left. I went to the store and searched around for awhile. Then there it was. The bag I really wanted in black! I took it to the register and exchanged it for the one I really wanted.
I will give myself a talking to the next time I go to a store and they're out of this and out of that. Now if I can get myself to stop doubting there will be shoes in my size.
I Love it!
You're welcome. Thanks for reading my story.
That is soooo awesome!
I have the same problem with my skirts. :)
You're funny, Fred. :)
Thanks for the post :)
Exactly. Sometimes we take score too soon, and think, that we manifested a contrast, when we just manifested a solution, just in a little round about way.
