I have a theory and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I have been doing quite a bit of work with the law of attraction over the past several years. I haven't amassed that fortune that everyone dreams about where we get to sit around and not work anymore..but I will say that I am super grateful and I live in abundance. (Honestly the idea of just sitting around all day is not appealing to me at all).
It's hard sometimes to see it. It's hard to see the abundance when we are focused on what we don't have, or what we are missing. My attitude about these things has improved so much but, I don't think that I could have done this without setting some serious prerequisites in place.
I am blessed in the sense that I wound up in drug/alcohol treatment 3 years ago where I was introduced to CBT, REBT and 12 step programs. I worked REALLY hard during that time there, and I had this massive spiritual awakening. The kind of awakening where the colors outside changed, the whole world changed it's physical appearance. I "saw the light" so to speak and I had this radical shift in perspective and ever since then, I can just manifest anything I want....without effort.
I had to change my core beliefs to do that though...Here are some examples of things that were working against me:
"Rich people are greedy"... if your "intention" is to manifest money, but you think rich people are greedy your in conflict with the universe, and the core belief will always win.
"Well I deserve happiness"...it's an entitled view, and one that will conflict when you feel that expectation isn't being met.
"I deserve a rich spouse"...again, an entitled view, one that will conflict when you feel that it is not being met...and leaves you disappointed and sad.
The moment I stopped demanding, and just set the intention and immediately started expressing gratitude and love, everything changed. It was really easy to see that looking back because I would think of something and my brain would immediately say "ya but you can't really have that".
I became so open that honestly it doesn't even matter what happens I am going to love all of it anyway.
My theory is that if you are expressing desires from a selfish, entitled place, the law of attraction doesn't work. That's my personal experience..I feel it requires doing some real soul searching prior to trying to use it, otherwise people are disappointed, anxious and upset.
Peace and Love,
Didn't you start out this thread basically stating that you are very wealthy???
No. I did say I live in abundance. But I am not financially wealthy (yet). Or am I? I mean compared to close to half the world's population I would dare to say I'm ridiculously wealthy. I have clean water.
