Powerful Intentions: Law of Attraction Community

Since moving to Hawaii, one of the things I miss is being able to find good "Mexican food" (really "Southwestern", because real Mexican food varies as much as anywhere).

Now, I have been able to find a couple restaurant shacks that are not bad at all.... Thank you Universe!

But, I must tell you that I do not take responsibility for my ability to manifest GREAT Mexican food, because I am able to cook it.... lol

You see, most of the people from the mainland, that create the supply and demand for Mexican food here, don't know what is good.... Did you hear me! It is NOT me, it is them! I don't understand how someone can not love, have passion for, and thus have an addiction to, SPICEY Mexican food; assuming it is made right, and not just "hot" to be "hot", and has great flavor.

I have found a couple places that have actual Mexican Nationals working in them, but they learned to cook from some Californian people at Chilli's or something.

I am talking about "Chile Verde" (green chile) made with pork; I am talking about tomatilla salsa made with jalapenos and fresh lime; I am talking about pico de gallo dumped all over my smothered burrito (chile verde);...

...and why can't anyone learn to make good guacamole?! People! It has lime (or lemon) juice in it, if you make it right!

Oh, and don't get me started with people who don't know how to make Italian food! GARLIC RULES!

How do people live without onions and garlic in their life, I will never understand!

(Note to pizza eaters: If you order pizza with pinneapple on it, you must start your life over, because you have taken the wrong path somewhere.... P.S. Chefs who make fancy/exotic mango "salsas" should retire.)

My mouth is watering, just thinking about carnita tacos with homemade salsa, and homemade tortillas.

Hate to tell you this . . . but Hawaii is probably one of the LAST places you should expect to find Mexican food at all, much less in any abundance. If you miss it that bad, either be content to make your own or go back to Arizona or New Mexico or Southern Cal or somewhere Spanish cuisine flourishes -- and the people who make it are actually Spanish, and therefore know what they're doing.

As for the Italian and the pineapple pizzas . . . why even go there? Different people have different tastes.

And finally -- this is not a place to come to complain and look down your nose at others and their preferences.

To each his own. Period.

Oh come on now.... Just makin' some fun conversation.... Why would I not find abundance here? Talk about limiting/negative beliefs.... Period.

Oh, and I do know what came from Spain, and what didn't.

But thanks for your kindness anyway.

This is fun conversation Wes and about one of life's greatest pleasures, FOOD! I've learned to take receipes from around the world and made them my own.....

Chamorro and Thai cuisine have got to be my absolute favorites!

Thanks for sharing!

Wes, you crack me up. I mostly agree with you but I do make a pretty good mango salsa and I like pineapple on my pizza, but it's because I like that sweet contrast with the saltiness and the heat. I have always, I even ate bananas with potato chips when I was a kid. I totally agree about garlic, I could not live without it. But it's great to have a little place where the food is prepared just how you like it. Even in the mainland of the US of A it's sometimes hard to find really excellent Mexican food. But it sounds like you are a Mexican food magnet and I have complete confidence that you will attract your heart's desire.

Yes.... Mexican food is fading from our midst.... It is my job to revive it.

Many eons ago, I had a girlfriend who thought ketchup was a tomato base for chili con carne and marinara sauce....
