But it "sounds like" discrimination to the working person.... You know, like when a black guy is waiting for his car in front of a nice restaurant, and some ignorant white person pulls up and hands him their keys, thinking he is the valet. Or, kids that come home from college and throw their laundry at their mom to be washed, while they go out....

"that is your mess"
What would I do if I was the person who had asked the maintenance guy to sweep? I wouldn't have asked him inthe first place, but if this was for some reason offensive to him I would have apologised to him and asked where I can get a broom.
No big deal.
