This morning I had an interesting experience with wildlife. A fawn got inside the fence with my alpacas. I heard a lot of commotion and went to check it out and here the alpacas and my pyrenees had a baby deer in a corner obviously trying to protect it. The deer was covered in blood and so were the Pyrs. It looked to me like she ran and had her mouth open and her jaws got caught on the fence wire. Her ear had a tear in it and I believe that the Pyrs were trying to pull her head out. I picked her up and brought her to our cria room and examined her. I called the conservation department and they said that she probably looked worse than it was and that head wounds really bleed. They said put her back in the vicinity that I found her and that mom would find her and care for her. So I did and I will be darned that she didn't try to get back into the fence until I ran and scared her away. I will pray that she will be alright and the universe will take care of her. My poor Pyr is limping as I am sure that the fawn kicked the ---- out of her.

My daughter is the biggest animal lover in our family, her brother tried to remove a spider from his room by spraying the poor thing with underarm deoderant Ali cried for about an hour devestated. She talks alot to what she calls the Roos in her top paddock (meaning her head) and they actually give her answers to simple questions like " Ali ask if my phone is in the car" and she is usually right. Animals just love her she is a gentle soul.

I loved the Fawn story. I am 3rd generation vegetarian just turned vegan.

Last night I found a fawn laying in my driveway and saw the mother leave it. It could have only whave weighed about five pounds. It was very weak. I know that the mom's leave them but this fawn was out in the open and I felt that something would harm it and it was very weak. I gave it some colostrom that I have on hand - just a feww cc's. Then I took a towel and rubbed it in the grass and layed the baby in a more protected area by where it was left. Then I took another towell and rubbed it into the grass and then rubbed the fawn with it to get rid of my scent. I actually slept in my van a few yards away from the fawn to be sure that I would be available to protect it. I asked the universe to make it well and for the mother to come back. The universe answered and the mom came back. I am elated and I feel that I got a gift from the universe in that I got to to see a baby fawn and hold it a little. Such a beautiful and innocent animal. I am a vegetarian and this convinced me even more not to eat animals. I just can't do it.

Hi all,
