Some people swear by it, and I find it to help. What ways do you visualize? I think if maybe we share our processes, maybe something might spark someone who needs that little push.
:)
Visualising is something ive been doing for years... albeit unsuccessfully, as i didn't really have an aim, i just did it for the process.
But one way i like to do it is to deepen my mind into a light trance then see myself in the situation i wish, then step into it and see, fee, and hear as vividly as i can at that moment.
... after reading the secret i now have intention... lets see how interesting this gets over the next year.
I agree with this comment. Not only that, but to enhance the mood--or to block out background noise--I also listen to music while I visualize it. I add tons of positive emotions to it until I'm at the point where I have a really big grin on my face and I even burst out laughing sometimes. Um...I recommend doing this when you're alone though or else you might get self-conscious.
I have found that getting into a good feeling place is the best way to start. Once I have that amazing feeling (comparable to love or sheer excitement) I start to visualize myself where I want to be, doing what I want to do. It has had an amazing effect so far with my dating and now I am focusing more on my personal wealth.
I'm having a pretty big problem SEEING what I want to visualize. Part of it is because I think I have a shy side (SHOCK!) and have a hard time looking people in the face directly unless I know them very well, i.e. my dad. Another may be because I get anxious. But the feelings are there. I think it's putting it all together, the sounds, the sights, the smells, the feelings. I FEEL as though I have it, but I have to train my mind, I guess. And get over this anxiety and shyness.
It just takes some practice. Some people say that the emotion is enough, so you can go by that alone, or just look at their name on a piece of paper and send positive thoughts to it. I know I get sort of embarrassed about it, but I also tell myself that it's not as though I'm staring the actual physical person in the face. I mean, it will become them soon enough, but if it helps to calm you a bit just realize that it's not going to make weird comments about you staring at them or wondering why you're there. It's going to be a soul force that knows what you want and will welcome you.
Interesting you mention that you have trouble looking into people's eyes. I read at some places and they mentioned that its a self-trust, self-worth issue. I focus on people's lips and find it really distracting to lookinto people's eyes. When i did a post mortem, i did realise that i did lack self-trust (i still do). Started doing some exercises and i must say, it has improved a lot
That wouldn't surprise me with me. Self-trust, true. And with the heavy amount of teasing I went through growing up, same thing. I thought at 32 (almost) I'd be over it, but I think it's still somewhat there.
I imagine very vividly what it will be like to have the things I want. I imagine myself living in a sizable house with a nice husband. I "see" what my guy looks like and how he would feel to the touch and how he would smell. What his voice would sound like. I imagine what it would be like if money were no object. All the traveling I would do. Luckily, I have traveled, so I replay my European or California vacation in my mind over and over. Only this time, the hotel rooms are more posh and the sightseeing is more often and of course, the vacations are longer!
I visualize where I want to be (at the ocean) or what I want (house paid for) or people coming in for massage or oils or Mary Kay products. This is not the most important visualization to me. More important to me is a spiritual meditaiton and visualiztion either inside myself while breathing or visualizing and hearing the ocean or swimming out to a huge daisy, climbing on, lying in the middle with the yellow under me and light all around, visualizing being one with my maker, the universe, myself. Getting in touch with spirit, with breath.
