Hi,

I'm really glad to have joined this group. I had tried
becoming vegan but found it very difficult when
travelling as vegatarian food is often cooked in animal
fats.

I became fully vegan once I discovered some amazing
freeze dried concentrated fruit and vegetable beverages.
They are delicious, can be carried everywhere (come in
a sachet) and can be taken just by mixing with water.
I've felt better than I've ever felt since taking them for
over a year.

Since taking them, I don't feel the urge to
eat meats and it makes life so much easier when you
travel as you're never hungry and don't have to keep
searching for decent vegan restaurants or interview
the waiter to find out exactly how it was cooked lol.

Hello Everyone! I am Heathercapri and a vegetarian/vegan on and off since age 12. I am currently only vegetarian as I have some health issues that prevent me from being fully vegan at this time. I enjoy a cruelty free lifestyle and hope to get to know some of you ^.^"

kewl,

this is sort a continuation of the old PI forum(raw for 30days) I had an ongoing thread there documenting my progress... last time I posted there, i was trying to get RAW again.

During the holidays my mom, aunt and cousins, knowing that I am a vegetarian, cooked up a bunch of delicious(cooked) dishes just for me; I could not refuse. They did not want to alienate me since most of my family is carnivorous. but how do i explain to them that not only am i vegetarian, i dont eat any animal products or anything cooked? i did not try. i gave in to temptation; then i took home the leftovers (spinach lasagnia, bell peppers stuffed with mock meat and baked with cheese, quiche and more).(christamas and thanksgiving)
since my family fills up on turkey and stuffing etc.. i took home enough food for a week each time and i ate it all... then when it was over, i wanted more. i regularly began pigging out on pizza, taco bell, falafel sandwiches, vegiburgers and going to my favorite vegetarian restaurants..
the first thing I noticed is how sleepy cooked food makes me. Then one day I looked in the mirror and noticed I was growing a little gut.. plus my mind was not as clear, all I could think about was my next meal. I had to end my affair gluttony. I decided to go raw again; almost 2 months later I have stuck to my RAW lifestyle (with minor exceptions). I feel great, am full of energy and my body is totally ripped as it should be…..

- peace

I am so releived to find this group. I look forward to more interaction soon. I am a 3rd generation vegetarian who just became vegan due to the current factory farming policies.
