Yes it is wonderful to hear from someone who is not just using this forum pretty much for spamming (if that is the right term to use).
So do please tell me more about yourself. Sorry if my icon image looks a bit "mysterious", however because of the nature of my work, I need to keep my ID a wee bit under wraps as I am a professional hypnotherapist, and I am not sure how my association would feel offering alternative hypnosis if you catch my drift.
For me, I dare say like you, I came here to work "with people". To share ideas and experiences if you will.
For me this whole thing started off very suddenly. Long story short a friend of mine took over a copy of the DVD "The Secret", and that was abouto 4 weeks ago, and ever since then it has been "all around me", if that makes sense. For example a very straight laced serious nutritionist I know (actually maybe that is the wrong image, but you get idea), when I mentioned about the Secret he suddenly stopped me and said "Let me tell you it works. Can't really explain it, but a few years I attended a seminar, and one year afterwards he made £100,000." Ever since then he has refused to get angry, presented himself the way he wants to be seen etc.
Of course the obvious question going through my mind is....why aren't you STILL making £100k per year. Being somewhat blunt it appears that perhaps he took things a little too much for granted, much to the detriment to others. Too greedy to put it another way, and bang, got it in reverse.
But now he is seeing the error of his ways, and he does seem to be living proof.
Until recently I thought to myself, well I am still new to this. But on reflection, I am new to this, but the influences have ALWAYS been there. So I started thinking back to my past, which is not exactly a bed of roses. One main issue was that I was bullyed a lot, pretty much everyday. Now it is important to say, sad as it is, that the part of the world I live in is notorious for back stabbing and resentment (north east Scotland....if you don't believe me, look at the hassle Donald Trump had trying to invest £1 billion...yes billion...pounds into making the worlds best golf course in the north east. Locals moaned and complained like you would not believe. Another famous case is Annie Lennox of Aberdeen, who refuses to acknowledge the city after having a torrid time trying to get started in her music career, eventually forming Eurythmics). There are many more examples very similar.
Kind of makes you wonder why I live here...but working on it! LOL
Anyway, I digress. Long story short, OK maybe not that short, I started to think "did I ATTRACT the bullying?" After much thought I concluded, probably. Not 100%, but certainly to some level, yes.
BUT when I consider my successes, eg making a short film that will be submitted to Cannes Film Festival next year, or being a hypnotist and so forth, I always had a feeling that "it would happen".
So I am trying to utilise this way of thinking and living. In the past if I went into my local town to do some shopping it would be with some sense of "of no!" because people here are soooo miserable and mistrusting. Now I go into town and smile, stay positive, and have a joke with myself, "well whose going to win most miserable (town name) local today!". Here's the twist...since starting the game, it is almost as if the negativity in my local area around me has lifted?
Hmmmm was I allowing the negativity I think to myself. It is a long way to go yet. My dream is not to feel guilty for wanting success, and to travel with my work and meet fun friends. The believe is starting to come through, though can be a bit 5 steps forward and 4.9 steps back sometimes :)
So what are you experiences, and what are your aspirations. Certainly interested in hearing your story, I feel it is more inspiring to hear these types of stories from the beginning.
