A self-improvement blog tries to keep two promises.
One, it offers long-time readers an opportunity to deepen their own quest for self-actualization, revisiting some favorite techniques in self-improvement and discovering new ideas based on insights that usually occur to the writer in the early hours of the morning. For example, my essays on constraints are borrowed from the Theory of Constraints in manufacturing and re-purposed to suit personal evolution while my ideas about… Continue

Two weeks ago, I gave a powerful and highly inspirational webinar to my students. I interviewed 2 of my students - Jay Castillo from the Philippines and Maria Senger from Michigan who just acquired and completed their first deals.
I could have given this webinar myself but I wanted my two students to lay out what they have learned. Why?
Before I answer that question, let me share with you a 'depressing' statistic: 97% of people who read real estate books and attend… Continue

Along with everyone else--I was quite shocked to hear that Michael Jackson had died.
I had gone online to find out about Farrah Fawcett!
I was up all that night watching coverage on Michael.
And I've watched many, many hours since then.
It's quite odd--because while he was alive I paid very little attention to him!!!
Of course coming of age in the '80's--I was affected somewhat. And while I wasn't a huge fan--I was still a… Continue

Just something I read recently and it touched a chord......
Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828–82)
I have been here before,
But when or how I cannot tell:
I know the grass beyond the door,
The sweet keen smell,
The sighing sound, the lights around the shore. 5
You have been mine before,—
How long ago I may not know:
But just when at that swallow’s soar
Your neck turn’d so,
Some veil did fall,—I… Continue

Trying is Resisting
My favourite movie quote is Yoda from one of the Star Wars movies. Sorry I can’t remember exactly which.
“No try. Just do.”
All that talk about using the force just looks spiritual to me. Isn’t it that we are all trying to align with our higher selves, which could easily be construed to be the “force”.
“Trying”, as Yoda was alluding to, is the single biggest blockage that we all face in manifesting our desires. In the… Continue

Success-consciousness creates all the conditions necessary to manifest success in life. It is the power to achieve the thing you desire for a stable, progressive, and enjoyable life, a life where you enjoy choice and abundance.
The alternative to success is mediocrity.
Mediocrity quickly slips into failure, and failure, with its ravages of poverty, loneliness and illness, is the source of suffering.
What, then, is success-consciousness?
It is more… Continue

Well today was a bit of a set back but I will not let it crush my spirit. My husband lost his job but I will look at this as a chance for an even better opportunity.
Things will flourish and this will all be behind us very soon! Continue

Daily OM: Gut feelings earn their name from the place in the body where they make themselves known. A pang in your gut when you may be doing the wrong thing, or a vibrant zing when your body approves, can guide you reliably at times when logic fails. Sometimes, when logic prevails, we ignore our gut and live to regret it, understanding later that a rational approach is only one way of determining what is going on in a situation and how we…

“Put all excuses aside and remember this: YOU are capable
.” ~ Zig Ziglar
Riding “waves” are not so easy at times, particularly if when riding you are facing difficulties or rejection in your life. Feelings of pain and despair, loss, loneliness, overwhelm, failure, fears, and disappointments begin to take hold as those waves crash into the shore. During those times, it feels as though the blood flowing through your veins is dark and heavy, so much so it is hard to move forward.… Continue

I have this new photo of me on all my materials. What do you think?
I had been kind of thinking about doing a new photo for a while. Then, a friend of mine said, "they say you should really get a new photo every six months to reflect your energy shifts."
Hmmm. (Honestly, my first response was (to myself!) "I'll bet 'they' are professional photographers trying to drum up more frequent repeat business.")
Then, as I thought about it a little more and… Continue
