Day 9 of this gratitude journal and a thought has occurred to me: is it possible to still be grateful when everything seems to be going wrong? Well yesterday I had several opportunities to contemplate that question. It all started when I misplaced my phone charger; called every place that I'd walked to that night and nobody claimed to have seen it. Then my roommate wanted to borrow one of my DVD's only for us to discover that the particular movie he wanted to watch went missing, along with…Continue

Well, today kicks off my second week of this gratitude journal and I'm excited for what's coming my way considering how great things went for me this past week. I realize as I try and figure out what I'm gonna write in this thing everyday, that I have so many thoughts running through my head that I struggle to keep them all straight. I'll take this as a good thing since it seems to indicate that I'm attracting more things to be grateful for in my life. That, in and of itself, is a reason for…Continue

Well with today's entry, I complete one week of doing this and it's amazing how much can change over that short period of time. In fact, as I've been doing this, I've come to realize how blessed I was all along even when I couldn't see it. Take the case of my little "month of hell" back in May. Even during that time, there were still some little and maybe not-so-little blessings that occurred in my life, such as when those nice people at O'Reilly's agreed to replace my rotors and break pads…Continue

Well the week is almost up and I feel as though it has been truly enriched by the experience of writing this journal everyday. I keep coming up with more and more reasons to be thankful for things, no matter how seemingly miniscule those reasons happen to be. I was able to make rent this month. I was short about $30 but my roommates agreed to cover me for the deficit - awesome people fa sho! Oh and I just found out that they approved overtime this week at my job so I'll be able to pick up…Continue

My laziness is at it again, i've been depressed because of school lately. i started watching movies like mean girls, etc. i suddenly wanted to watch 13 going on 30 but i didn't have it on my laptop so i forgot about it and lo and behold, when i was switching channels while eating dinner today HBO showed 13 going on 30. thank you LOA!
so people just LET GO, don't think about it too much and move on with your life and believe it will happen!

It's crazy but true - I ran over 2.5 miles today in 3 increments. FABULOUS!!!
It's just getting me closer to my goal. I like to repeat to myself that I can do anything....and it sure seems true. I love that.
It's late, I'm bushed and therefore....
Oh wait! Before I go, just want to mention that I got my schedule for the first 2 weeks of work: 12-7pm every day, Monday through Friday! That's a 30 hour week! Whoohoo! I'm really hoping I'm going to LOVE IT!
The 5th day in a row of doing this and today I've been reminded of something that I read in The Secret, which was the book that was responsible for initiating this journey for me. At one point the author, Rhonda Byrne, discusses the concept of inspired action whereby if you feel the urge from the universe to do something, you should act on it because it'll bring you closer to what you desire and it'll feel great, like you could do it all the time. This describes exactly how…Continue
I've wanted a vegan, organic network marketing company that would support me in feeding the homeless and provide leads and a web site without a charge to distributors and I discovered if I wanted that kind…Continue
Hey, but I'm back! So much is happening, it's an exciting time! I start a new job - WITH GOLDMAN SACHS! - on Monday. I'm so excited and yet it doesn't feel real. I guess I'll see how real it feels on Sunday night...and then on Monday night, too. After my first day of work.
I'm excited because I'm losing weight and have been running a little bit every time I get out. Richie has been so supportive. I guess after watching him run the Brooklyn Half back in May, I was inspired to give…Continue

Day 4 of my gratitude journal and I continue to find more things to be grateful for. On my way out here, I deposited the last three checks from my job into my bank account so I'm that much richer. Yesterday, I was walking back home with the new bike I'd procured and it sprung a flat. Luckily, the person who loaned it to me just happened to be driving by, gave me a lift home and agreed to fix my tire for me. How awesome is that? I mean these things just don't happen; this is further evidence…Continue

Day 3 of my gratitude kick and the blessings seem to keep coming. On my way home yesterday, I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a some time and he loaned me a bicycle to use. It's funny because recently I was thinking of how great it would be to have a bicycle handy and look what happened. This will definitely help increase my mobility for the time being. Didn't get to work with Macayla again last night but she wasn't too far away. And she was as warm and bubbly of a presence as she's ever…Continue

Are we just a body with a personality? From my understanding, we are much more than that. Each one of us has a higher aspect. This higher aspect has been typically called the Higher Self. If I am not wrong, others have also referred to it as the oversoul or overself.
Who and what is the Higher Self?
From my experience, the Higher Self is the intelligence and wisdom aspect of our own self. Ironically, the Higher Self is impersonal and does not have a 'sense of self' like…Continue

Only my second day doing this and I've already attracted more things to be grateful for, a sure sign that I'm on the right track. Yesterday, one of my roommates bought me some new batteries because I'd asked about some earlier that night - didn't ask her to actually buy them for me but she did anyway, which was a very nice surprise. Also got to work with my new favorite person again last night and it was fun as usual. Also very grateful for the support and encouragement of my church…Continue
