A president releases an iconic freedom fighter and together, sunset clause notwithstanding, they arrange a free and fair election that heralds a rainbow of hope for the human spirit across a post-cold-war world.
Nelson Mandela, the most respected freedom fighter since Mahatma Gandhi, governs for a term, then gracefully turns down a second, and thereby seals his immortality. Once more, the world is in awe of his refusal to hold on to power and all salute… Continue

Each of us is graced with the most powerful gift. With it, we are able to make people soar out of orbit with happiness, or plummet to the earth with despair if we are careless. What is this almighty gift? It is the gift of words and the ability to communicate.
As a society we often forget how powerful our words can be. We are occasionally reckless or too quick to speak, when we should take time to think about the consequences of our words. We are… Continue

So, figured I'd share my happiness with you guys. Cuz when I look at what happened I really do see the Secret works, altough I knew that already. So what has happened to me the past few days? It all started not too happy, I asked for my boyfriend to come and talk, and we broke up. He first was very upset, and it shocked me a bit, but then he cooled down and behaved the exact way I had hoped and wished for. Very calm, sweet, and reasonable. Then I got upstairs and I found out I had won a… Continue

OK so here is my dilemma, I think I may be trying too hard, I think my desires for expediency in this matter are overriding what I am reciting to myself everyday.
There are times that I get so down over what has happened and I try and control my thoughts but its so hard. I know this is messing up what I really want and I am looking to find ways to combat the negativity within me and become more positive with each and every day.
I am asking for… Continue

I have chosen to think of circustances that appear to be all things negative as events that purify us of deeply held negative beliefs which give rise to negative thoughts and feelings. During one such purifying event my daughter printed several very good affirmations about attitude and experiences and put them on our refrigerator door - where they remain to this day.
One such affirmation is from Leonardo Da Vinci - "Patience serves as protection against wrongs as clothes do against… Continue

sometimes i get overwhelmed.
i think of all the things that need to be done, clean the house, laundry, pay bills, get this job, exercise, finish my research, maintain myself (do that face mask, paint those nails!), and somewhere in there spend quality time with my son and husband.
how does this all get done, and more importantly, how does this get done consistently?
i can't tell you the last time i had the time or the energy to do one of these things, let alone,… Continue

Five years ago my life changed. I was working in a global corporation, in a well paying job but I was becoming more and more unhappy. I knew it was time to go when I would tell people "I've quit better jobs than this!". Fortunately, I am a powerful manifestor and I manifested myself out of a job but with benefits. I got downsized.
Everything happens for a reason, so when the news came that the dept was being restructured and I would no longer have a job, I shrugged and asked about my… Continue

One of the things i realized that makes me get negative is boredom. And the more I get bored, the less things I do. So today I planned little things to do to make sure i keep occupied and entertain myself. My grandpa told me to always remember the things I did that made me feel happy, and to remember the feeling. For example, if I felt happy after finishing doing the laundry, then next time I get bored, I should do the laundry to get that feeling again. So I will try alot of different things… Continue

“Few men desire liberty: The majority are satisfied with a just master.”
Live each day working in a building with 500 kids, and you learn a lot about discipline. As educators, we spent many years empowering kids by rewarding and imposing discipline, and these lessons have served us well as entrepreneurs…let us explain.
One of our best friends was sharing with us the highlights of a conversation he recently had with his soon-to-be-teenage son. The big… Continue

Good Wednesday to you all.
I started my first discussion today and it felt good.
I also remembered a meditation I used to do many years ago whilst falling asleep lastnight and I am going to share it with you.
I am walking along the shores of a lake, I am bare footed and the sun is warming my back. There is a slight breeze moving the trees gently. There is a hill to my right that is covered with spruce trees and a path runs at a steady slope up through them. The light is brighter… Continue

Here is a great article by Dr. Mercola that I wanted to share with you.
Imagine having the power to control your own health destiny right now -- from the moment you wake up in the morning through the moment you fall asleep. Well this is not a fairy tale. This is reality.
Thanks to scientists like Bruce Lipton, PhD., who is a forerunner in the field of epigenetics and The New Biology, the power of your mind is finally gaining the attention it… Continue

Daily OM: At their best, our homes act as our sanctuaries. They are the nests we return to for rest and nurturing nourishment before we venture out once again to spread our wings and fly. But there are times that we may feel quite differently about our homes—times when we feel surrounded by turmoil rather than harmony, or mired in chaos rather than immersed in peace. It is at these times that we have the power to decide to bring more love into our homes.
When we choose love, we are… Continue

South Africa is a multi-cultural esthetically beautiful country with massive potential and opportunities. It experienced a peaceful political transition 14 years ago during which political power was transferred from the then "apartheid regime" to the majority in a manner that is still being described as a political miracle in that the entire world was holding its breath in anticipation of a civil war.
Since the miraculous transition, the institutionalisation of the new order brought about… Continue

If you are open to validation that you are doing the right thing, it happens at the most unexpected times. Today, I treated myself to a massage, and decided to meditate before I went. You'll have to wait until the end to see how it all fits together.
It has become glaringly apparent to me over the last few years that I am a VERY slow learner--at least in the things that count! There are so many things I thought I knew, that either turned out to be total fabrications of my… Continue

Thank you, Lord for today! What a beautiful day for a great journey!
I am grateful for:
the beautiful sunrise
no snow despite chilly temps
a phone call from my daughter
my patients feeling healthier and going home
my work and my co-workers
the opportunities that come my way
I promise myself:
That I will smile at each individual that comes my way b/c they may need that smile
I will think positively and feel the happiness in my… Continue
