"Everything has purpose. Whatever you have picked up on your
journey, if it is not evil, you must find in it the Divine.
On the contrary, you must use your rock music for good
things, and that way you will sublimate the world of rock."

Last night, I dreamed that all that I had previously experienced as disappointment and as solid evidence of my lack of fitness for living the good life had been for a purpose. All the mistakes, failures, and discouragement suddenly fit together as part of a grand scheme that would lead me very soon to a path I wanted to be on… Continue

Take action to seek out your purpose in life!
Last night I used EFT to tap on my seemingly lack of passion and/or how to find it. I also spent time comtemplating this just before I went to sleep so that my mighty unconscious mind could provide the answer to my conscious mind because I have been feeling out of whack because I couldn't figure it out.
The thought occurred to me today that it isn't that I don't have passion,… Continue

After experiencing and making more mistakes than he could remember, the happiest man in the world sat down with God to have a heart to heart conversation. The man asked God why after making so many mistakes God had allowed him to be the happiest man alive, and how could he give back to the world for all the blessings he had received during this journey.
Quickly God responded, Don’t you think that was the purpose of your journey to begin with? Look around, isn’t this planet I provided… Continue

This is one I’ve wanted to do for a while. I’m just back from my favorite Saturday morning meeting, and it is always a great reminder of where I was, and what has changed! I am eternally grateful. It stops me from taking things for granted, from assuming!
Even though I have been on a journey of change for a long time, I still find myself making assumptions, and often, as indicated in the title, the assumption backfires!
To assume what other people are… Continue

Why I'm Here
Posted September 23rd, 2008 by Keith
First and foremost, I'm here to attract clients. I am a life coach who has helped clients to achieve the results they want, and have also helped others to create a life journey that is free from the effects of addiction.
I know that my life purpose is to help others achieve, and as well as a living a balanced life personally, this is the most satisfying thing I can do.I love life and… Continue

You Are Special and Unique
As I do my coaching thing, there is one thing that is a mainstay. Each of us is special and unique. Each of us has talents, and each of us is capable of setting goals and achieving them.
I am a recovered person from addictions who is constantly recovering. This coupled with a great business career, some great coaching in certain aspects of my life, and obtaining coaching certification, makes me fairly unique in my field, and allows me, through… Continue

Witnessing Athletic Greatness-Testament to Coaching
Over the weekend I made a conscious decision to stay away from the computer, get some “social” time and catch up on rest. Part of the down time has been watching the Olympics.
I have a love for sports, played competitive sports in my younger days, and have a couple of coaches who pushed me to results that maxed my talent, and ultimately, were a big reason I stayed in school and did not get into “serious” trouble.
As did a… Continue

Last night I was a t a meeting, and old timers were welcomed. A couple of people glanced my way, and I guess it a fitting title in that fellowship. I should be grateful. I was there again, and free from addictions.
Over the last period of time, we have had some major employment changes, family disappointments and have made a decision to relocate to a new area about an hour away.
With all the change that has taken place, I can get down and worried and… Continue

FAMILY – The Weekend Thought
One of the most important things in my life is family, yet sometimes I wonder why.
As I start a new week, the thought of family and relationships is foremost in my mind. Funny, I’m reminded, you can pick your friends, and you can’t pick your family.
In these thoughts, I must remember the father I was while in active addiction. I loved my kids, but did not love myself. I honestly did the best I could as a father, but I will never win the father… Continue

Courage and Willing to Change
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is that little voice at the end of the day that says: "I'll try again tomorrow."
“A key quality that distinguishes a successful athlete, or a top-notch performer in any field, is the way he responds to his bad days. Everyone has good days and bad days, and the good ones are certainly easier to handle. But do we allow the bad ones to throw us off our course? Are we so shaken… Continue

Insanity? Restored to?
I think we all go through rollercoaster rides. Even though I’ve been on the recovery journey for a while, things happen, we face stress, and even though we try to turn it over, a black cloud appears! This isn’t the first one I’ve had, nor will it be the last. I will use the tools given to me to get through today without using anything!
A good reminder why we ask to be restored to sanity. While not generally certifiable, I do have my moments, and have to… Continue

Live and Let Live
A good reminder for me.
I started on the journey to get a life back that had fullness, happiness, hope and serenity. I worked very hard at that process, have had a spiritual awakening, and benefited from the advice of professionals and peers who had walked before me. I wanted what I perceived many to have, a life filled with hope and serenity. A life in which I found my purpose; a life with purpose.
My higher power has been very good to me, I am blessed. I… Continue

Humility or Humiliation?
Where humility had formerly stood for a forced feeding on humble pie, it now begins to mean the nourishing ingredient which can give us serenity.
Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, page 74
When I made a decision to take my life in a new direction, and reached out to get help, I was told I needed to be humble.Humble?
My mind immediately raced and told me that to be humble, I would have to embarrass myself, and I’d had enough of that! I didn’t… Continue

Another great question that came from a friend. If we replace the word alcohol with any of a hundred words, the question and response are every bit as relevant.
Why does he behave like this? If hundreds of experiences have shown him that one drink means another debacle with all its attendant suffering and humiliation, why is it he takes that one drink? Why can't he stay on the water wagon? What has become of the common sense and will power that he still sometimes… Continue

A July Weekend- Validation
Life, upon reflection, is always interesting. I have been blessed beyond anything I could have imagined, and only realize how much when I reflect on what has happened over a fairly short period of time, and how I was able to handle things and what I allowed myself to feel.
Entering the weekend, I was really wondering how I (and many others) “get” a recovery program, and many very bright people stay away from their addiction for a while, and get right… Continue

Little Dark Clouds
Some days I feel like a cartoon character and not my beloved Popeye.
I am the person you see in the cartoons with the little black cloud over my head every where I go. I’m thankful that I don’t get this way often, and know it will pass, but the feeling is here, right now. I think some call it depression, I call it a funk!!
I have been on a journey to an improved life for a long time! I coach people on balance and goal setting, and work with many in… Continue

-we all need it
So far, it’s been a really interesting day. Things are now quiet, and I am reflecting on a few things that have happened lately.
In response to one of my journals, I got some very constructive feed back on content and approach, and some constructive feedback on my web site which I can incorporate to make it more helpful, and to hopefully increase the amount of work I am doing.
This morning, I had the opportunity to work with two very different… Continue

Seeing The Past
-flashback to my 20’s, it’s not me today
I went to a concert over the weekend to see Credence Clearwater Revival, or what’s left of the group. The music was great, it really was good old rock and roll, but the feelings were funny!
There was a lot of gray hair in the crowd, including my gray hair. When some of the great old chart toppers were played, there were a number of people up and trying to move like they did in the “70’s. Much of it was not a pretty… Continue
