This morning, I was listening to one of my mentors via audio CD while driving.
The person he’s interviewing said something very profound – which I know is very true. He said that generosity is a good business strategy. It’s a paradox: to become rich, you have to give. He explained it this way: if you are generous, you open your hand to give. An open hand is also open to receive.
I believe the above statement wholeheartedly. No…I don’t believe it…I KNOW it to be true.… Continue

For those of you who don't know, I am a son a former OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker). I want to share you this story with you because I know a lot of you are either OFWs yourself or you are related to one. I submitted this article to websites being visited by OFWs in the hope that they will see it and learn something from this. Please pass this article to… Continue

Darwin of http://BuyFirstDeal.com posted a question on pre-construction condos. He already bought one and he has paid off half the mortgage. He asked me whether it makes sense to buy another one.
My short answer: NO - it does not make sense because you don’t get your money back quick enough to justify the risk. Don’t listen to the real estate agent selling you the deal because that’s conflict of interest. He/she is bound to make money when you buy and guess what he/she will… Continue

Two weeks ago, I started a website, a challenge and an offer.
The website - http://BuyFirstDeal.com is a social media website (like your own Facebook) to help beginning real estate investors overcome hurdles and barriers preventing them from acquiring and profiting from their first real estate deal. (If you have not joined, do so - it's fr:ee!)
The challenge - invite people to become members of the site - more specifically, get 1,000 members in just 10 days.

Why I love a Sandwhich
We Filipinos love to eat rice...in every meal, sometimes even during snacks. This is one of my biggest adjustments when I moved here in the US...eating
sandwhiches during lunch. For me, a sandwhich is not as filling...not as tasty - specially COLD sandwhiches. It's an alien concept and even after 9 years of living here - I still hate sandwhiches.
I try to eat rice as much as I can even during lunch time. Good thing there are Chinese… Continue

You Need to Quit the Mediocre Majority Club
The English teacher humiliated him in front of the class. “This essay is terrible. Listen to this…” and he proceeded to read the essay out loud. The person who wrote the essay knew this was his essay of course. And his heart sank. He tried…and he tried hard. He thought this was his best essay ever but his best was not good enough. His grammar was terrible. The teacher then looked at him and handed him his paper completing the public… Continue

Bob Proctor, multimillionaire, "human-potential guru", and one of the stars of the movie "The Secret" is one of my mentors. He emailed me a wonderful story which you should all read...here it is.
"Many years ago, in fact shortly after I began to study this transformational information, I came across a piece of literature that contained an idea that changed my life. It explained that every thing around us that has been made by human beings is the expression of an idea, and that… Continue

My son Nathan goes to Kumon and takes up math. Even though he is only 7 years old (about to turn 8) and about to be in third grade at school, because of Kumon his math skills is already fifth grade level. I am so proud of him. He is a good kid...
Just like kids his age he loves playing videogames and he loves watching cartoons like SpongeBob Squarepants. Last week, my wife expressed frustration with Nathan because he was not doing his Kumon exercises as he was wasting too much… Continue

I know...the title "Why 'Cheating' is Good" is controversial to say the least and perhaps offensive to most of you. Before you get me wrong and accuse me of being immoral or unethical, let me be the first to say that we DON'T lie, cheat or steal to make money in the real estate business.
When I was in 3rd grade, I was not able to do my homework. 15 minutes before the class, I saw a commotion...everyone were scrambling to copy the work of the smartest person in the class. I did… Continue

Conventional wisdom says that the three things you need to succeed in real estate is “Location, location, location”.
Wrong. (are you shocked?)
Conventional wisdom will NOT make you rich and the conventional wisdom above is NO different.
Location is just one aspect of real estate investing. Here is a “tale of two cities” - I bought properties in two different cities which are polar opposites of each other and the results will shock… Continue

Two weeks ago, I gave a powerful and highly inspirational webinar to my students. I interviewed 2 of my students - Jay Castillo from the Philippines and Maria Senger from Michigan who just acquired and completed their first deals.
I could have given this webinar myself but I wanted my two students to lay out what they have learned. Why?
Before I answer that question, let me share with you a 'depressing' statistic: 97% of people who read real estate books and attend… Continue
