Tonight I had the apple cinnamon cereal
and woweeeooo was it ever good! I was sorry to see the bottom of the bowl! It was crunchy and filling and oh-so flavorful!
Today we had an Open House for one of our listings that’s really cool with an INDOOR POOL! Sweet when you live in New England and only get to use an outdoor pool for maybe 3 months of the year! The sellers had baked brownies to create that home-baked-goodness-scent as well as test my will power. I didn’t even want one, but hey, old habits die hard, so yes, I indulged. The best part was that I didn’t even beat myself up for it!
On to another subject…..time to attack my nemesis….EXERCISE. For quite some time now I have been refining my version of a workout I can stick to. I get so bored so fast with routine when it comes to exercise, which I find so funny because the rest of my life is SO routine because after all, I AM a Virgo. But I can’t seem to stay motivated to do anything for long, so I knew I was going to have to transform the things I already love doing into my main form of exercise.
One night while searching Netflix, I found an exercise video that looked to be more of a dance routine. Since I love to dance, I ordered it. It was fun and lively but too structured. I’m too forgetful and clumsy these days to remember all the steps and stay upright, and I just like doing my own thing when I dance. Having done every exercise tape out there, I know the moves, the form, the reps, heck I even know it will work if I just do it! So I made up my own moves to my own music, added the theory I learned from Wendie Pett (check her out) and now have a BLAST exercising! Not to mention the happiness quotient going through the roof! Just TRY and feel bad when you are dancing along with Down To The Bone!
As an alternative to dancing, I may give myself a lymphatic workout on my mini-trampoline. I have even found a way to influence my exercise on many levels by placing my trampoline in front of my vision board, where I have many pictures and phrases related to my physical health and looks. If I REALLY want to ramp it up, I pop in Michelle Blood's manifestation cd, "Perfect Weight" (see my Magnet to Success link above) and then I am using all my senses!
When the weather is nice, it’s easy to make time to go, as well as get excited about, walking by the river that flows behind my house. It’s where I do my best thinking, so I look forward to it. Carrying my sweet little puppy Libi (see my slide show) has happily added to the physical benefits and the enjoyment of my walks. The extra 11 pounds on my back forces me to lean forward slightly to balance myself and literally propels me forward! She loves going with me and will actually tell me it’s time for our walk by running into her backpack (which I keep on the floor, unzipped for her to just lay in if she wants) and barking until I change my clothes and we go! Maybe she just hates being left behind, but I swear she enjoys those walks as much as I do. She’s a funny dog….she really doesn’t care to do the walking, but she loves being carried! Yes, I spoil her rotten. But look at her! How could you not?!
Sometimes when I notice I’m feeling a bit more energetic, I quickly (before the feeling passes!) plug in one of my Joey Atlas dvds (a no frills, common sense workout) and get a good sweat going. I have learned to do (and accept) whatever level feels right for me, and applaud whatever I do as more than I’ve been doing!
It's been great to finally find enjoyable ways to move and do good things for my body and my health. The most rewarding part is being able to finally OBSERVE these changes taking place in myself!
Time for my chocolate!
