"If you are complaining, the law of attraction will powerfully bring into your life more situations for you to complain about. If you are listening to someone else complain and focusing on that, sympathizing with them, agreeing with them, in that moment, you are attracting more complaining situations to yourself! "
About 2-3 weeks ago, I had two patients in a row that suffered from sciatica. About three years ago, I herniated a disk and had the worst back pain and sciatica symptoms. I could hardly walk. (OK, this is not complaining, just statement of fact and giving history). I was feeling rather sympathetic/empathetic towards them and was telling the story of how I previously suffered from the same problem, but have not had a flare up in years. Although there is some difference between a thirty something sciatica that I had and the seventy/eighty something sciatica that they were suffering with, pain is pain.
About three hours later, I am sitting in front of the computer, writing reports. I go to stand up and immediately fall back into the chair. The worst pain I have felt in a long time shoots through my back and down my leg and I can not even stand. So for the last 2-3 weeks, this has sporatically been going on, where I can even walk.
I have been reciting affirmations several times a day during this time period
*Every cell in my body is working perfectly
*My spine and disks are in perfect alignment
After having a really great meditation session last night, where I could actually feel my vibrations. (Even after I was done, my body felt like I was vibrating. What a great experience.) I woke up and I am pain free (I AM GRATEFUL THAT MY BACK FEELS WONDERFUL! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!). The first thing I read when I logged onto the computer was the above quote about sympathizing with complaints.
The first time I read this in The Secret, I immediately thought of everytime I get a cold. It is usually preceeded by the thought, "I haven't been sick in awhile" and then within the next day or two, BAM! here comes a terrible cold.
So, my question to everyone is, I work with in a clinic, where a majority of my patients are medically compromised, disabled or infirm. I am looking for affirmations that I can use right away so that I do not run into either of these situations anymore.
