Recently, about a week ago, we got two dogs. I think they're mixed breed type. I'm not much of a dog lover; I am more into cats, but I don't really mind them. The female's name is Princess and the male's name is Dodger. I prefer to call him Dodge.
My brother is the one who wanted the dogs, but now I'm worrying about whether he is really caring for them. They need real care and training, but my brother seems to be doing nothing other than putting food and water out for them and walking them when he remembers. I do not feel you can leave dogs untrained as I can with my cats. They're driving us crazy without the neccessary discipline.
I learned some dog-training tactics from a book a couple years ago so I suggested them to my brother and made him practice the "sit" tactic with Dodge today, but I worry he won't keep up with dog training. I feel he is neglecting his responsibility toward the dogs.
Anyone have any suggestions?
