Hello, all you amazing and wonderful people. I am so excited to be here.
I'm new, so I'm really just feeling my way around here. So consider this an experiment, by me, tee hee.
Here is an old post I did, partly inspired by our friend Wayne.
The Law of Attraction and Ex-Hippies
I was at one of my LOA group meetings last night, enjoying some stimulating conversation when something occurred to me. Many of the followers of the Law Of Attraction that I know are ex-hippies.
I was speaking with an LOA friend whom I think of as an Ex-hippie (like me). You know the type, long hair, pony tail, casual style. He’s also of the appropriate age that I know he grew up in the 60’s/70’s. If you recall, during those times, we grew our hair long, bucked the establishment, smoked pot, dropped acid and staged sit-ins as a protest against war. The important subjects in those days were peace and love.
A lot of hippies also joined organizations supporting noble causes. Many of them were (and still are) trying to save the world. Organizations like Green Peace, PETA and WWF have many ex-hippies on staff or as volunteers. Many of them have spent their time and effort on saving the rain forest, finding a cure for aids or ending world hunger. The important subjects were ethical treatment for all and saving the planet.
I also observed that many ex-hippies grew up to become video game designers (or graphic artists or some other techno-based professional). I remember when virtual reality first emerged on the scene. I remember watching what appeared to be exclusively hippies dabbling in this technology. I remember thinking that all the hippies who stopped taking drugs had found something new to “enlighten” and “expand” their minds. The important subjects were computers and graphics.
Last night, I made another observation. A lot of my LOA friends are also ex-hippies. And today, the important subjects are joy and abundance.
So, I have questions running through my mind: Are ex-hippies picking up on the Law of Attraction because they are pre-disposed to finding a cause or a belief to latch onto? Are we just more open-minded and willing to embrace new knowledge than other generations? Or is it just demographics (all the baby boomers, many of whom were hippies) making it seem that way?
I tell you something, many of them still want to save the world. Spreading the word about the Law of Attraction is another way of doing it and may be the best way yet!
Peace and Love
ABRAHAM-HICKS Thought For The Day
It Is Not About Controlling My Thoughts; It Is About Guilding Them
We are not encouraging you to make an effort to control your thoughts, but instead, to more or less guide your thoughts. Reaching for the way you would like to feel is an easier way to hold your thoughts in vibrational alignment with that which you believe is good.
