A wonderful young man -- new friend -- named Nick F - started an ACIM discussion group and our first meeting was Tuesday night at Cafe Funchal, a Portuguese restaurant in the city. We had a table on the patio, and after the self-introductions, we talked about a variety of topics. Some of us had brought a few of our favorite books, and the discussion soon led to Abraham and the Law of Attraction. A lot of the things we talked about were principles already familiar, but there was one thing that stood out, and I've been pondering it for a couple of days when the negative thoughts creep in.
Regarding the negative thought.....example: I am not lovable, I will always be alone. yada, yada, yada.
Is it really true?
How do I know that's it really true?
and the key here:
What would my life be like if I didn't have that thought? (that's the deal sealer for me)....ok, obviously, my life would be better without that thought, and it wouldn't get in the way of gratitude, positive thoughts, happiness, etc....
