So these past few days, I've been reminded of the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25; specifically I've been thinking about verses 21 and 23 when the master rewards the servants who chose to invest their talents and gain more of them in the process. Both of these verses go "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Now the reason I've been mulling these verses over so much actually has to do with my job. Lately my bosses have been praising my work, especially this guy named Gary with whom I've been working in the freezer. He's actually been requesting me specifically whenever he needs help back there, which is great. Maybe this is why everything has happened the way it's been happening. God wants me to prove myself with these "smaller" tasks before He entrusts me to something bigger again. Maybe that's why these engineering jobs panned out so negatively for me. Because God knew that I needed to develop more faithfulness to smaller tasks first before I could truly move on to something greater. At any rate, I am truly grateful that my contributions are being recognized. That makes the process of going to work everyday so much more worthwhile and enjoyable.
