Clarity, please, re: the issue of "saving" what we still want on the old platform.

: D Hi! : D

: ) I give Thanks To ALL HERE and on the old platform ! : )

I just read a PI e-mail re: the old platform and changes as of June 1, 2008.

Please, I need some clarity re: the issue of "saving" what we still want on the old platform.

Are our PI private messages and posts on the old platform STILL GOING TO BE ARCHIVED/READ ONLY?

Are posts, threads, private messages, etc. still going to be on the old platform to read after June 1, 2008?

Is anything on the old platform being deleted or going to be unavailable in the future?

Is the old platform just going to be a memory after June 1, 2008?

To being Fully PRESENT in each new moment and accepting ALL AS IS IN THE P R E S E N T moment ... all that there really IS! ; )

With an ABUNDANCE of LOVE and GRATITUDE!

Sorry to butt in but I too have a question about the old forum:

Will all the old posts there be deleted or will they be moved here as an archive of sorts? There is so much wonderful information on the Abe Hicks Forum that I'd hate to have no access to so many quotes and so much useful information that has already been posted there.

I am not trying to hang on to the old, and I do realize that you gotta do what you gotta do, but I do hope you will at least consider moving the Abe forum here, it's priceless.

Thank You,

Abundancebound

Hey Abundancebound,

We will not be moving any of the posts, forums or threads over to this site at all. The old platform can still be used as a read only and out of that, you can make reference to certain quotes or pages where they are found from this new platform.

Hello En Joy,

Our intention is to have the Old Platform become a read only site starting in June of this this year.
All the information will stay there including all the forums posts etc.
If you desire anything from your own personal libraries, photo, blog area, private messages etc, it may be best to copy them to your desktop now for future use either on this new platform or for your own stuff.
Basically what is being said is that you will not have access to the editing of the old site once it becomes read only.
If you have stuff with code in it where pictures were added etc, you might want to copy that stuff somewhere else.
All the old stuff will still be read only.

Hope this helps...
Peace and Love

Thank You, Wayne! : )

Did you get Chris Tinney's e-mail re: the old platform not being archived or READ ONLY due to financial and technical issues?

How do we save so much collective group effort individually?

I understand that the old platform will not be readable/accessible after June 1, 2008?

Please, check with Chris and correct me if I am confused and wrong.

Where and how do we store so much valuable work
individually?

What is the most effective and efficient way to save from so many sources?

Thanks for your help.

All the BEST!

Actually, Let me Clarify.

The old site will no longer be around after June 1st.

We wanted to archive it but it looks like that is not going to happen.

It seems we just do not have much choice on the matter for many reasons and so after alot of long thought we decided we just had to go with the flow rather than fight it.. To MOVE DOWNSTREAM

I know there is years of great stuff there and at the same time I am allowing for the new and the NOW. :-}

So yes, please copy anything you want to keep on your computer .

En Joy asked me (her husband) for some help with keeping some of the old site, if possible.

I checked if the WWW archive site had copies of the old versions of the forum, (www.archive.org maintains a copy of the web via snapshots) but there is no copy since robots that do the retrievals are blocked. It would be nice if you could have the (hidden) robot.txt files made so that there will at least be a copy in the www archive of all that was on the web site. So, if the WWW archive can make a copy, anybody can go there and read it (... if you want to allow that of course.).

I also am trying to copy her private messages. Can there be an option to email all the private messages to an internet account (maybe just for the end-wrapups?) that would be the easiest thing to do, or is there already a way that is not copying them one-by-one?

I think that it is important to retain our history, especially when much creativity is involved. With a few simple things you can make sure that organisations which are founded to preserve historical data have access. It might also be useful to keep a few database dump copies around for that reason. In about 10 years it will be a trivial amount of data, even though now it is big.

Cheers,

Hi. I know we already exchanged emails.
But the software it runs on is just too hosed up.

We've invested thousandsevery month just keeping it going but the software continues to crash and break and theres one guy in Germany that can fix it

Its just an endless loop
I will look and see if that is why they cant crwawl the site.

I beleive the smart pages are indexed in a way that might not work with them but I will see :)

Hi Chris,

Sounds like a software jungle. Thanks for trying to sort it out. Perhaps we'll be lucky.
Sometimes entropy just takes over. That seems the way of nature and it is not just the growing things. I hope the new site brings a more happy future.

And, have a nice trip (En Joy told me you're going on a long trip); it sounds like a great thing to do.)

Perhaps, I was not very clear earlier. The web archive is funded to make copies of the web every few days. So they could provide their copy for everyone who wants to look at the old PI forums. I went to their website and entered the forum website in their 'way back machine', but it turned out that they don't have a copy of the PI forums. The message tells you that the 'robots.txt' prohibits them to make a copy. Since I know a bit about setting up web sites, I know what that means. It is to keep automated internet programs to make a full copy of the web site. However, if the old forums are all going to be deleted, it makes sense to let these internet engines make copies, so that a copy will be archived by, for example, the web archive. Of course, also google will start making copies, but I don't know if they will keep old copies. The thing is, that this web archive makes it possible to see the old web site, even after it is gone, and it is free. Consider it to go to a library. A simple way to implement it, is to remove the restrictions, by removing all the 'robot.txt' files (which are hidden files) on the web server.

There may be other ways that I don't know about. I also don't know how much time the web archive needs to make a full copy. It seems to me that something needs to be done rather quickly if you want to enable these web archive people to get a copy.

I will ask Bob O about this, thanks!

En Joy really would like to save the PI forums, if there is a way. If there is something I can do to help, ask. (En Joys husband)

Is the official THE SECRET website
http://www.thesecret.tv/
/thesecret
going to be available after June 1, 2008?

Thanks for any clarity. I realize there is an alliance.
