Powerful Intentions: Law of Attraction Community

I often find myself daydreaming. One of the times I do it most is when I take my daily 45-minute walk. What I find is that I have this awful habit of replaying the sordid and rotten events that have happened in my life over the past eight months. I think about what I could have done or should have said differently. And I sometimes get a little bitterness in me too.

So does anyone have any advice as to how I can clear my mind of these thoughts? Sometimes I dwell on them way too much.

You're right! Music is what gets me by & a healthy dose of positivity. Although, you wouldnt say that i was positive when reading my last posting, but, you see, this is what happens....i fall off the road every now & then & all this "stuff" is very new to me, so i guess i have a looooong way to go. I commend myself, however, by at least being aware that it is time to change my tune, kinda adapt or die & no, i'd far rather adapt!!! Funny thing is, i actually feel tingling sensations when i do my meditating (which is something that i dont have down to a fine art...yet) visualizing receiving my green card, packing my bags, arriving at LAX & running straight into the arms of my 2 sons!! But, gee, its a constant, constant battle to keep my mind from slipping into that crappy negative black hole. But, its a battle worth fighting.

Any conversation you permit yourself to have with discouraging thoughts guarantees you'll wined up with a good reason for feeling discouraged. After each negative thought reframe the situation into a positive lesson learned. By turning your energy around abundance is sure to follow. sometimes imperfections create something unexpected and extraordinary

When I negative thought would creep it's way in, I'd shut it out immediately by first recognizing it and then smiling at it. Then, 10 push ups :) I got tired of doing push ups...

As soon as I get a negative thought, I say "bless it and release it" and I keep repeating this till it goes away. It takes a bit of work but it really works. If I do get a negative thought now, it goes away just as quickly as it came.
When I go for my morning walks, thats when I do my thanking to God. I thank him for a perfect day, beautiful trees, all the air we have to breathe, my house, my son etc............
by the time I finished with my thanking an hour has already passed.
Good luck (this is what works for me)

I do a lot of yoga, and before we begin each practice, our teacher has us silently dedicate our practice to someone: It can be anyone we want to honor with our work, breath and energy.

Before you go on your walk, dedicate it to someone. Focus your intention and good thoughts on that person, and think of all the reasons you're happy to know them or to have them in your life. Make it your job and your duty to focus on someone else and all their good traits as you walk.

Only good things can come of it!

Yes, as others have mentioned don't fight negative thoughts. They are not 'the enemy'.

#1 Learn to non-judgmentally allow whatever thoughts and feeling you have to arise. If it is some kind of very surpressed emotion, it's best to just feel it and allow it to move through you. Even bring Love to it. the less you resist it, the more it can pass through.

#2 Learn to really master being in touch with your feelings and the thoughts that are causing them. THIS SKILL TAKES TIME TO MASTER. Keep being aware of your negative thoughts and gently turn them around to more positive ones. I think the Abraham concept of just reaching for slightly better thoughts works quite well. Here is my take on that. What I've learned to do is when I find something that is bothering me, I look at the thoughts and if I can't believe a positive thought, I instead just go for A RATIONAL, LOGICAL THOUGHT that is easy to believe. For example, I am sad about not finding a job yet after 2 weeks of searching, instead of affirming over and over, "I am working at my dream job", I will instead go for a more believable rational thought FIRST, like: "I have enough money to get me through another 5 weeks at least and if I stay persistent and keep moving forward, even if I don't find a dream job, I can take a lesser job for now." You see what I mean?
This works very well because it is totally believable and once you go for a more rational thought, then you are more open to soon going for a positive affirmation with loftier ambitions, but for now, I can only believe the more RATIONAL thought. Make sense? Trust me, this works very well. For most believing a lofty affirmation when you are in a very low state is almost plain silly.

#3 Take time out daily at 1st to work out your thought/belief life on paper. It is a bit tricky to just master this in ones head so it is strongly advisable to work out your thoughts on paper until you get better at it.

This will work. The advice of "just keep being positive" is a bit too simplistic for most. some people can just do this, but very, very few.
Good luck.

O.K. yet another opinion ..........But it might help give yourself the rule of say 5 . So what the heck does that mean ? Did something happen five minutes ago that I could of changed or reacted differntly to . ( let's say you were mad ) ask yourself why ? find the truth , realize you can't change what happened five minutes ago , but it's still in the now moment . If you were wrong recognize it .( maybe apologize ) If they were wrong recognize it , be grateful for the lesson it taught you . ( In other words don't make them realize it, if they are done with the situation , they are and it would create more crazyness . ) Now as you goto bed give yourself the five hour rule . Anything happen in the last five hours that I might change ? Be glad for what you recognize . ( realize you can't change what already happened but ) if you are wrong about something and didn't realize it apologize , and be grateful for recognizeing other mistakes other's have made . ( again i don't suggest makeing anyone change anything it's a bad idea, she said he said not smart ) however if you can see where you can grow , you can give it up that other's are doing it as well . Finailly I give myself the five day rule , If nothing comes to mind in five day's that i can rechange I don't worry about it . You are Human just like everyone else . ( however if they( people in your life ) remeber something from two years ago , and need to know why? bummer for them so much waisted energy , maybe it is yourself to explain ) . So now that your done with that I want to remind you to be grateful for the best part of your day . I'm sure you get the idea , anything happen in the last five minutes i forgot to appreciate ? I guess what I am saying quickly let anything negotive , go it makes you feel guilty or something . Embrace the funner thing's that make ya smile . Good luck I know you can do it

Well you can clear negative thoughts Temporarily or Permanently. Temporary clearing them is just that. Sooner or later the negative thoughts and feelings come back. Sometimes a simple thing can trigger their return.

There are techniques that can help you clear them Permanently. One of more immediate ones is EFT. You might want to check out the EFT forum. There's great people there who can help explain how to do EFT on your own.

Also, permanently removing negative thoughts can mean going down to the DNA level. I have been taught DNA techniques but they are too complex to explain here.

My point is that, our programming is so deep rooted that we don't realize it. That's why we sometimes ask "Why do I keep thinking like this?"

Read some of the works by the Masters. They will share techniques that most people don't even know. Just remember to keep an open mind. Just because a technique looks weird or simple, people tend to dismiss it.

Good luck.

I have a question.

If you have a negative though - say for instance, breaking your arm.

Do you have to REVERSE that thought by thinking about a healthy arm?

Or can you just simply feel and think positive, and it will compensate?
