Found out last night that the only man I ever truly loved is engaged to another. He brought her to meet me, honestly I think for my approval. I am trying to be positive and its so hard. I know I can only manifest for myself, and am trying to, but having a hard time. Anyone that can send good thoughts my way would be greatly appreaciated.

That has got to be tough!!! If you can, reach for whatever feels better -- and trust that the universe will bring you someone WONDERFUL -- believe that, love yourself, and see it as an opportunity to develop that love.

And go ahead and grieve and feel bad for a while -- basically, let those feelings go through, don't try to fight them. Yes, you can be positive, but I think there is value in letting your feelings just flow, rather than trying to beat them back by being positive. It doesn't mean you don't reach for the better feelings and thoughts and pivot your focus on what you do want. It means you start where you are, let it be and flow -- don't fight it -- and trust that as you do, better thoughts and feelings will start to pop in -- perhaps just a little better here and there -- and you'll see what happens. You just never know.

I know sometimes that I have to trust that what I think is impossible is not necessarily impossible when it comes to manifesting what I want.

Be love, because that's who you are.

I think there are a lot of great answers here. Truth is I wouldn't want someone to fall in love with me. Don't get me wrong I want to be in love with someone.
But...I want to grow into love with them together. I think that is how soul mates should start. It all starts off with a real friendship and from there it grow Like a oat tree. It starts off as a seed and then becomes a mighty oat tree.

Beside I agree with what a few other people said. Love yourself first the rest will fall into place. :-)

The greatest relationship you can ever have is the relationship you develop with "who you really are". After you are able to do that, everything else, including relationships with others will be wonderful.

I so totally agree. I wonder if my 'life experience' (i.e. age) has taught me this, because I did remember being very insecure. Right now, I at at such peace with myself. I have had some really bad events in my life, most of them within the past 10-15 years, and I realize through NO effort of my own, I have grown past a LOT of insecurities.

I remember during my divorce, that I was seriously attracted to a man, a friend, who was sometimes separated, but always seeming at odds with his wife. I often called in my prayers to be somehow with this man (even gave a date of sorts), that we would marry (in my naivete). He did let me know how he felt, but he is a wonderful, committed soul. He is still my friend.

I slowly let go of what *I* wanted, and just relaxed...you could say I relaxed into the universe. This was before publication of "The Secret," and was more along the lines in the spirituality of "call those things that are not as though they are." Somehow, wishing things that *I* asked for specifically was exhausting. I was affirming things right and left and just horribly tired; so eventually I had no choice but to relax in the now and remain calm, and happy as I could muster.

What did happen, was another man came into my life. He had some different qualities, but nonetheless was very specific and not wishy washy at all about wanting me in his life.

As I told Tom in another thread about my son's passing, I have found that sometimes what we *think* we want is either too specific (one person or have a million dollars) or we skip steps (be rich now, be healthy now- but eating junk). Someone told me their grandma said to them, "It's not what you do here and there, but what you do all the time." I take this to mean practice using LOA until it settles into your bones. Be that person and live that life now with what you have. It really IS less about what is outside you, than what is within.

Wow & wow... I replied on page 1, then read the Abraham quote on page 2, which I remember reading a few months back.... and I didn't get it.

BUT NOW I DO! The reason why i wasn't attracting my friend into a love relationship was because of my own beliefs...that I wasn't good enough for him....that I wasn't ready for happiness.

But now that I've done lots of work on myself, loving myself, etc...our relationship shifted...and I feel major shifts coming in the near future. All because I feel worthy now... I feel as though I'm good enough now for this type of relationship.

universe provided me with the relationship with my husband...cause it was a match (although I wanted something more....but I wasn't there yet). And I think this is why there's such a disconnect... pretty much for 2 years now. (nasty relationship from the start...better now but disconnected....it's like really not what I want at this time...not responding to my needs anymore).
