Powerful Intentions: Law of Attraction Community

My friend is in a major stress reaction / depressive episode. Need healing asap. She is in bad shape. I'm afraid she is near nervous breakdown. She is due to go back to work after a long medical leave and she is really still not able and it is sending her into a tailspin. Can anyone please help? I am doing energy healings but I could use all the assistance I can get. Her name is Barbie.

Sorry this post is so long. I copied the article into it.
My prayers are with you.
Prayer against Depression - by Saint Ignatius of Loyola

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.

Do You Cook?
The five foods for beating depression
Fish oils: Contain omega-3 fatty acids. Research has shown that depressed people often lack a fatty acid known as EPA. Participants in a 2002 study featured in the Archives of General Psychiatry took just a gram of fish oil each day and noticed a 50-percent decrease in symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disorders, unexplained feelings of sadness, suicidal thoughts, and decreased sex drive. Omega-3 fatty acids can also lower cholesterol and improve cardiovascular health. Get omega-3s through walnuts, flaxseed and oily fish like salmon or tuna.

Another top food for delivering imega-3 fatty acids is chia, and we currently recommend two sources for chia seeds:

Brown Rice: Contains vitamins B1 and B3, and folic acid. Brown rice is also a low-glycemic food, which means it releases glucose into the bloodstream gradually, preventing sugar lows and mood swings. Brown rice also provides many of the trace minerals we need to function properly, as well as being a high-fiber food that can keep the digestive system healthy and lower cholesterol. Instant varieties of rice do not offer these benefits. Any time you see "instant" on a food label, avoid it.

Brewer's Yeast: Contains vitamins B1, B2 and B3. Brewer's yeast should be avoided if you do not tolerate yeast well, but if you do, mix a thimbleful into any smoothie for your daily dose. This superfood packs a wide assortment of vitamins and minerals in a small package, including 16 amino acids and 14 minerals. Amino acids are vital for the nervous system, which makes brewer's yeast a no-brainer for treating depression.

Whole-grain oats: Contain folic acid, pantothenic acid and vitamins B6 and B1. Oats help lower cholesterol, are soothing to the digestive tract and help avoid the blood sugar crash-and-burn that can lead to crabbiness and mood swings. Other whole grains such as kamut, spelt and quinoa are also excellent choices for delivering brain-boosting nutrients and avoiding the pitfalls of refined grains such as white flour.

Cabbage: Contains vitamin C and folic acid. Cabbage protects against stress, infection and heart disease, as well as many types of cancers, according to the American Association for Cancer Research. There are numerous ways to get cabbage into your diet; toss it in a salad instead of lettuce, use cabbage in place of lettuce wraps, stir fry it in your favorite Asian dish, make some classic cabbage soup or juice it. To avoid gas after eating cabbage, add a few fennel, caraway or cumin seeds before cooking. Cabbage is also a good source of blood-sugar-stabilizing fiber, and the raw juice of cabbage is a known cure for stomach ulcers.

Also worth mentioning: Foods like raw cacao, dark molasses and brazil nuts (high in selenium) are also excellent for boosting brain function and eliminating depression. Get raw cacao and brazil nuts at Nature's First Law. Another source for cacao is Navitas Naturals.

Things to avoid
If you feel you are depressed or at risk for depression, you also need to avoid certain foods and substances. Some commonly prescribed drugs -- such as antibiotics, barbiturates, amphetamines, pain killers, ulcer drugs, anticonvulsants, beta-blockers, anti-Parkinson's drugs, birth control pills, high blood pressure drugs, heart medications and psychotropic drugs -- contribute to depression. If you are taking any of these, don't quit them without talking to your doctor; but be aware that they may be contributing to your condition by depleting your body of depression-fighting vitamins and minerals.

You should also avoid caffeine, smoking and foods high in fat and sugar. Keeping your blood sugar stable and getting B vitamins is important for stabilizing your mood. Cacao can be good for mood because it releases endorphins in the brain, but watch out for milk chocolate and candy varieties high in sugar.

Other non-food things to do

* Get plenty of sunshine & Exercise. Natural sunlight is a proven cure for depression.

I am sending healing, light, positive vibrations, and love to your friend.
Does she meditate? This would be a perfect time to get her to be still and just "listen" and "absorb" some of what the universe wishes to share with her.

She is perfect, whole, and complete AS Is!! She is love. She is God. She is the universe....as we all are. Namaste' to your special friend.

As a further thoughtful intuition and feeling rushing thorugh me right now, I see 2 options one of which is the better. I personally feel she needs to get there and "visit" with co-workers and/or hanvelunch, etc. I also think she can and should make arrangements to work at home and go in a couple times a week, then after a week 3 times, and then couple weeks after that 4 days a week. By then her confidence will build and she will look SO FORWARD to going to work, and she does like her work very much.

Yo are a good friend...let me know how this works out.

Love and light,
~~~Joy
I am wondering how long the medical leave is, Gerard...and also, what her symptoms are? In my thirties I suffered a major breakdown - but - as one of the others said, this is sometimes exactly what has to happen - to find out about yourself and come through to the other side. For me, very severe panic symptoms was the major problem, alngside with the depression. Is her work too much for her, just at the moment. Maybe not right for her? All my thoughts and help that I can - you are doing an amazing job at the moment.
Just a thought - medical aid does not hinder always - it can help us as a walking stick would if you break a leg.....just dont know whether she is on medication or not - it is not all bad....:) take care my friend.....Cathrynn X
I'm so sorry she's going through this.
I have been there (in a similar situation, anyway).
I would encourage her to figure out a way to take more time, if that is what she needs. I didn't take the time I needed and it ended disastrously for me.
Let her know she is allowed to take care of herself, even if it doesn't seem like it right now. There is always a way.
Sending love and good vibes to her.
Oh boy, do I know what you're going through. My brother is going through this right now and I'm trying to give him all the help I can.
He's had a complete nervous breakdown, lost his job and his apartment and in his mental state (no drugs or alcohol involved) ended up homeless and living in the woods for about six days. A police officer found him and talked him into phoning me. Thank GOD! I drove to the city he was in and brought him home with me, fed him, washed his clothes while he bathed, and then he slept for about 18 hours straight. When he woke up I took him to the emergency room.
All I can say to you in regards to your friend Barbie is keep positive. I know it sounds so hokey, but it really is true. Initially I was trying so hard to keep it together and put on a happy face in front of him, but it truly has helped.
It's only been ten days since he's come home with me, but those ten days have been nothing short of miraculous. He's got an amazing doctor helping him now, a place to live appeared out of thin air and he's moving in on Saturday. He's actually smiling today! We've had so much to do, getting him his disablilty insurance and all that, but I told the universe/God what I needed for him, and every night said thank you for every single thing that went our way, and it's just kept right on going my way.
He just thinks he's borrowing my luck. I know better though. :0)
Just to show yet another way that the LOA is always working, when I was sitting around the kitchen table discussing how we needed a new place for him, I kept the conversation on what we needed...not what we didn't need. We needed it in a certain price range for him, we needed it by September 1st or sooner, we needed it in my town, and it would be great if it was close to the hospital.
The VERY next day we found his place. It's everything we had listed and sits directly across the street from the hospital, and we're moving him in on August 15th. How's that for specific!
I'd have your friend try her hardest to make a list of the five things she is the most grateful for. When you're feeling down and out, that's usually the most important time to do it. Good luck to her. You're a great friend.
Just thought of something else...
Have you read any Wayne Dyer books?
I highly recommend them if you haven't!
I just finished The Power of Intention and I thought it was fabulous. VERY inspiring.
One of the last chapters was on healers. You might like it.
A Prayer for Healing ...
Out of the sacred emptiness, emerges everything.
The Divine pulse is made known in my every heart beat.
Lost in ecstasy, the cells of my body temple dance
in alignment with their wholeness.
Mind and body bond together, unified,
seamlessly representing God as me.
I am carried into a greater revelation of my real self,
returning me to the true quality of the God Life.
The ocean of life brings to my awareness,
healing thoughts that are more countless
than all the grains of sand on Earth's beaches.
My physical state evanesces
in the tides of truth,revealing my wholeness.
No longer in a reality prison,
I do not give my power away
to the authorities over my body,
nevertheless I respect what has been offered,
and I transcend into a higher reality.
The healing process is the very hands of God in action.
My body responds perfectly to the mode of healing
I have confidently chosen in partnering with God.
Knowing I am divinely guided
to the perfect modality of healing
and the ideal practitioner to help facilitate my healing.
No longer afraid, pain is alleviated,
liberating me from contradictions.
The timeless perception of who I truly am,
frees me from engaging in self-immolation.
The subconscious mind gossip
and ongoing commentaries are hushed
as I enter the quietude and genuine stillness
that is a silence beyond mind and all it's thinking.
In this sacred sanctuary,
vast oceans of Divine Truth infuse me
with everything I need to know
to support revealing this healing to my higher self.
Connected, the molten core of Transformative energy
is spontaneously released, restoring wholeness.
My being is flooded by
numinous messenger molecules
remembering their innate Divine Blueprint
as they are awakened from their prosaic doze.
I am carried to a whole new state of well-being
as I experience this natural perfect healing
in the boundless loving heart of God.
And so it is.
