Powerful Intentions: Law of Attraction Community

I have been MIA and just struggling for a while. I have been feeling totally out of balance and lost in the world. Relationships have been spinning out of control and I find myself utterly confused half of the time and out of balance the rest. I am exhausted all the time and mostly just find myself wanting to sleep or just lay down. My energy has been totally sapped.

One of my dear friends has been talking to me about diet and the realingment of self and the increasing of conductivity of creative energy. He said he heard when following certian eating patterns we can increase our connection with the source and improve our manifestation abilities but didn't really have any specifics for me.

I am already a devout vegetarian and have been for 12 years. What I was wondering is if any of you follow any specific dietary/eating plans which help keep you in balance and your channels clear or if you have read anything on the subject that might be helpful? Are there any suppliments, foods, drinks that you have heard about or would reccomend? Things to avoid?

This has been my focus for some time. What I have learned is that we need to eat fruits and veggies: four times more than proteins, which you may already know... olive oil, Alaskan Salmon for Omega 3's, eggs - especlally the whites which contain the most protein, and walnuts. This has been suggested to me, so far it has been helpful. Please continue to share in this venue...I am in the learning process myself.:) ... Pamela

Hello Karmalita,

Blessings to you! Yes, food has the ability to uplift, when we choose what is good for ourselves. I could tell you what is good for me, but, sweet one, we are all different. It would be like a wolf telling a duck what to eat. What I do suggest is to keep a food journal for 2 months. I know you are tired, so keep it simple. Most of us have something we keep with us at all times. Purse, cell phone, hair brush, etc. Keep a tiny book and pen/pencil with that item. At most dollar stores you can find this set up. Jot down what you eat and the time, if you ate because of hunger or craving, and if you had something to drink with it....whatever info you have the time and effort to record. If you notice that you crash down after eating something or drinking something, or feel emotionally different, make a BOLD mark and write down the affect. Usually after 30-60 days a pattern will show itself to you. However, remember, WHEN WE ARE AT OUR WORST GRATITUDE WILL PAY OFF LIKE WINNING A LOTTERY. You said, "one of my dear friends". Realized how blessed you are. There are many people who don't have even one good friend, much less a dear one...or more, as you do. BLESSINGS ABOUND FOR YOU! You are very lucky.

To uplift a waning good mood, surround yourself with music you like or watch a happy movie or show. Singing uplifts me, so I have the music and the words as "shorcuts" on my putr. I will click on one and sing until I feel on top of the world. I like writing, too. So, to uplift a gloomy moment, I take time to jot down a happy remembrance in my "Happy Moments" book. Long or short, I write happy. If I don't feel like writing, I might take a moment to read one of those happy times I wrote about previously. And laugh, Karmalita. Our subconscious recognizes laughter, whether we are deeply happy or in desire of happiness. Same for smiling.

Be good to yourself. You deserve it. EXPECT TO FEEL GOOD!

This has been one of my biggest traps. I get wrapped up in my own head and seeing how things are going haywire and then of course my mind gets going and viola! my external world gets more haywire. I know everything is a reflection of my inner state. I guess my problem is I just haven't figured out a good way to take care of my inner world so my outer world just keeps giving me reasons to freak out...

Being vegetarian is good, and even better when most of what you eat is fresh, raw and organic. Many advise against meat based protein which also tends to be high fat, and even when organic, as environmental toxins increase up the food chain.

Avoid processed carbs and sugar as they make your insulin and blood sugar levels go crazy (therefore your mood). I've not gone Atkins, but a low carb diet where those carbs are complex makes me feel a lot better.

Eat plenty of fibre and drink enough water.

You could research some supplements and specific superfoods e.g. aloe, glucosamine, shitake mushrooms, spiulina, a good plant based multivitamin (aborbed better than chemicals or ground rock), omega 3 (organic flax is a good veggie source).

May also be worth an allergy screening just in case - lactose, yeast and gluten being fairly common.

For avoidance - cigarettes, too much alcohol, sugar, meat (especially cheap non-organic), caffeine.

Luckily I don't smoke at all and my only real vice is caffine. I drink occasionally but I think I will probably be avoiding that completely in the future because recently it has gotten me into a little trouble (ie open mouth, insert foot, make people very very angry). My biggest issue has been staying away from processed foods but I have been focusing on that lately and making sure I get enough fruits and veggies...thanks for the help!

Stop listening to your head when it comes to diet! There are different body types that require different kinds of sustenance. I am a Protein type, and NEED fish/animal high-density proteins to feel my best--soy and nuts just isn't going to cut it for me.

The symptoms you describe point to some kind of deficiency--Vitamin D may be the big culprit. If you are not getting at LEAST 15 minutes a day of un-protected sun exposure every day, you need to start! In the meantime, start taking supplements. 2000-4000 iu per day. You will be amazed at how much better you feel!

You could also be engaged in a job or major activity/relationship that is not in sync with your TRUE SELF--the longer you do that, the worse you will feel. Start tuning in to your Inner Voice to find the source of your distance from center, and start taking steps to get back there!

How do you figure out what sort of body type you are? I know for a fact I can't eat meat, I just don't like the taste at all which is actually why I am a vegetarian. I don't think sunlight is an issue either since I try to get in the sun as much as possible, especially on weekends. The work/relationship thing is probably the real answer, but then again, even that is a reflection of my inner self which is what I am trying to tweak...

Well, there is a body-type test I think you can take on Mercola.com, but the best way is to shift your diet until you feel better. Try cutting way down on the high-glycemic carbs (anything white--flour, rice, sugar, white potatoes, corn, and anything containing them). Modified Food Starch is a wheat product that you should avoid at all costs.

Try that for a couple weeks and see if you feel better. Then try upping your protein intake for a couple weeks, etc.

On the work/relationship issues you think may be playing a role: when we do inner work, it is to try and clear away the ego and pain body so we can open up the channels to our inner selves. We can't change our inner selves to be in harmony with our outer lives--it has to work the other way around. When we are paddling upstream, we have to turn around and throw away the paddles to move with the natural flow of who we are and what serves our Highest Good. Sometimes, this means letting go of things we have powerful attachments to--which may not be serving our Highest Good, or be helping us on our paths. These attachments are usually a function of our egos, and co-dependent relationships. (We get something out of them that makes us feel accepted or important, even though the net effect is to feel like you are being sucked dry--like a spouse that stays in an abusive relationship.)

Bottom line is, if this is your issue, look within to discover what it is about the situation that is setting off your alarms, then begin moving towards what fills you and gives you power. (The way you feel right now is your Higher Self guiding you to make changes--listen now or the next "suggestions" will be harsher. Been there, done that!)

I highly recommend Caroline Myss's Energy Anatomy CD series. It is available at Amazon, and is a wonderful guide to understanding your energy flow. This is a video series touching on many of the same things:
