About Me:
My name is Bryan L. Hutchinson. I have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), I have had the disorder all of my life, but was first officially diagnosed at the age of 37 and am now 38. Being diagnosed with ADD gave me a better understanding of my life and why I have been the way I am. Life has been a struggle, I did terrible in school and yet, despite and because of my ADD, I have become successful in my own right.

My growing up years were difficult to put it nicely and I was often in trouble for things I said, things I did and things I did not do, but I should have done. I was considered either dumb or lazy or both. Actually, I was none of the above. My intelligence tests were very high, higher than average and sometimes even higher than that, so needless to say I confused a lot of people, even my parents. My parents believed in me, but because of my actions or inactions and obvious intelligence my father believed I was simply lazy and did what I did or didn't do on purpose which led to discipline to correct my ways. Back in the late 70's punishment was the common method for dealing with my type of behavior.
Learning I have ADD has given me purpose in life, a purpose I feel is provided by destiny and makes me whole as never before. To that end I have become a crusader for ADD ADHD awareness and therefore I have written a book about my life, my struggles and what I have learned in order to overcome, cope and become the successful person that I am today. I also created a website www.adderworld.com where I openly talk about my struggles and experiences and successes, what I believe in. Adder World has become popular beyond my wildest dreams and this only tells me how important and vital ADD ADHD awareness is.
My book is titled "One Boy's Struggle: A Memoir -- Surviving Life with Undiagnosed ADD"
