Actually, the book I showed you was written AFTER the movie. It's a novelization of the movie, & the movie is based on the book UNDERCOVER CAT. Both books are by The Gordons. However, knowing a thing or two about the industry, it's perfectly possible that the version I showed you was ghost-written & attributed to The Gordons for publicity reasons (unless The Gordons wrote the screenplay--& I don't get that feeling).
Anyway, it was really fun discovering that the book cover was available off Google! Isn't the Internet amazing?

Guess what? A few months back, I bought the book for THAT DARN CAT at a book sale. You know the way they make these thin kinda-novelizations with photos from the movie? Well, I bought it because I always had that movie in my mind but couldn't figure out whether it actually existed or was something I'd dreamt up!
Thing is, I got the book & my heart fell. "Nope. I guess it WASN'T Hayley Mills as the girl." I mean, Hayley Mills is famous, Kate! She was famous even pre-teen! And her name's NOWHERE on the book! Not back cover, front page--nothing!
So, there it is, Sweetie--now I'm all happy again that I got that 64 page Scholastic Books paperback edition of THAT DARN CAT by "The Gordons." :P
